No uplifting experience to share, but I bought some Bolivian coffee from the shop last Saturday, in reference to this thread. (The sort of nice smelling shops where they have thousands of coffee sorts and grind it freshly for you.)

Apparently my flatmate has gotten a girl. This is the flatmate who has been in the country less than a year, spent the 8 years prior to that doing nothing at his parent´s house, is so impractical he didn´t know how to change a light bulb and describes himself as a Hitler-fan. That´s slightly depressing.

Does she have a sister?

That would be not too clever a move. As nice and friendly (and heartbreakingly pretty) Polish girls are - the ijits might come home in dire need of spare parts.

They could always try France Tantalising views across the channel and they do surrender quite easily

I can see this thread reached it´s 10 year anniversary a few days ago. Huzzah I suppose.
The part about him being a Hitler fan was more to show what kind of person he is. He watches his speeches and is trying to translate one of David Irvings books into Farsi.
I did meet up with a nice, friendly girl today but that was just a friend who´s in town for the week.
