I'm thinking of making a wee winter project out of the works of Terry Pratchett. There are a tonne of them I haven't read yet.

My Terry Pratchett readings are all over the map -- I used to try to read ;them, grouped like to like, but gave that up long ago. And now, I'd have to start collecting them again, as in The Big Move a couple of years back, I essentially got rid of my whole library.

I'm working through Discworld in publication order still. Lucky me - my Pratchett mad mum has disolved her library in my direction meaning I have in my hot & sweatys a lot of lovely hardbacks signed by The Man Himself.
Currently reading The Last Continent.
along with Kludge by Gary Marcus (I don't agree with all of it) which I have thanks to h2g2 and a little book swap I did with Beatrice (I got the better deal there )

Ok, then, since I know this thread has more than its fair share of Pratchett fans - any particular favourites you'd steer me towards next?

I really really liked Pyramids. And Mort. And Feet of Clay. And the one I finished before the Last Continent but i can't remember what it was called. The one where Ankh Morpok went to war against Klatch.

See back five minutes and the posting trigger fingers back.
I've never ready any Terry Prachett. My mum and sisters are obsessed and keep meaning to read some and never get round to it. I plan to read one as soon as I've finished The Element. Should I go from book one of Disc World?

Emily, you've been away for 7 years - but surely you can't have forgotten that when you reply you have to write something in the big white box?
Not Guards! Guards! - ack, what was it called?

TP has a new one out, there's a review in The Guardian today.
Just finished Boltzmann's Atom, a biography of Ludwig Boltzmann the 19th Century scientist. You'll like it if you like that sort of thing.

I love that sort of thing, but I'm banned from buying books until I've read the ones on my "to read" shelf.

now finished Kluge* which was disappointing after a good start. The only bit I really liked was his explanation of why teenagers go for the short term reward/high rather than thinking about consequences.
Now I have the choice between Self by Yann Martell (but I'm quite scared of that, but I have 2 weeks or so until my next OU course starts and I think I need that time for this book)
or
Into the Grey by Celine Kiernan.
Decisions Decisions.
