Yes, Dead Heat is the one with the . I finished it yesterday and started Even Money. I'm about 3/4 through that and wondering what to read next.
Yes, it only takes me about a day to read one of Dick Francis' books. I used to get through them at that rate when I was at college, on the bus and during breaks.

Finished "Android Karenina"- the steampunk elements actually made it readable! I had no interest at all in the boring love triagle type crap, and no sympathy for any of the "real" characters (the only ones I could care about were the robot characters introduced for the mashup) so now I know not to bother with the original ever again.
Not sure what to start next, but I think it'll be "Johannes Cabal the Detective", the sequel to the other book I read just before "Android".

Just finished Even Money. I live in Warwickshire and know some of the roads and villages that crop up in the car chase towards the end of the book. It's nice to read a book that's set near your home turf.
Started The Greek Myths by Robert Graves (him what wrote I Claudius). It's the second volume of a two volume set. I read Volume 1 some time ago.

I have been through a number of books in the last month.
Jeffery Deaver's The Cold Moon - A reasonable read but far too involved.
Terry Pratchett's Unseen Acidemicals - Very good, typical Pratchett, but not his best work.
Charlaine Harris' Dead Untill Dark - Couldn't even finish chapter 1, not because its bad, it's not, it's just not interesting.
And right now I'm reading Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. I love the TV adaption and I'm really enjoying the book.

The Group - Mary McCarthy. 6 Vassar graduates in the 1930s
and
Commodore Hornblower - CS Forester. Brilliant stuff.

Territory, by Emma Bull. An alternative view of the town of Tombstone, Arizona, just prior to that famous gun battle you may have heard of. Very good characterizations and dialog. Rumors of a sequel, which I would enjoy, if it's as good as this one.
Starting John Scalzi's "Your hate mail will be graded: 10 years of Whatever"; various posts from Scalzi's blog for the last decade.

Having finished the E=mc² book I'm none the wiser...
Snoop - What your stuff says about you - Sam Gosling. I was given this by my boss for having taken part in a committee at work. My desk is covered with stuff, I wonder if it's a 'hint' of some kind.

I left The Fellowship at home when I went on holiday, and instead took Killer in the Rain, a collection of short stories by Raymond Chandler of Philip Marlowe fame.
I also borrowed The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest by Stieg Larsson from the hostel. Got about half way through. Must find it somewhere and finish it.

Now reading "Lords and Ladies" by TP as working my way through diskworld back catelogue and doing the Witches books.

Started The Book of the Thousand Nights and One Night. Actually, it's in four volumes, each of about 640 pages, so this will take a while. Mind you, it's an easy read compared to some books I could mention.

I am reading "The Gun Seller" by Hugh Laurie (of House and Fry and Laurie fame).
It is a noirish thriller, and it is brilliant thus far.

Have been reading Paul Auster, "Invisible" which like all his recent stuff is excellent, and am now moving on to Herman Hesse, "the glass ball game" or however it translates to English.

Ps - I liked Neverwhere as well.

I'm reading "Fionn Mac Cumhail and the Baking Hags" - for a children's book, it's rather grisly, and they seem to solve a lot of their problems using torture
