How deep is your mud
I really need to know
'Coz we're living in a world of fools
Pushing us down
When they all should let us be
So we could get quite muddy...

Oh yes. Fortunately a combination of the rain we just had in London, the time and it being Friday has led me to have Gogol Bordello's 'Start Wearing Purple' in my head. In fact I'm going to whack the You Tube wotsit on now!

I almost always have something by Loudon Wainwright playing in my head (right now it's 'One Man Guy', but more often than not it's 'Five Years Old' which is a creepy song in itself given it's about Martha Wainwright who is clearly no longer five years old), the weird thing is I rarely listen to him...probably because it's always playing in my head. Yes, that would explain the non-listening quite well.

Painted Black (I think) is stuck in my head right now, and I don't even know the lyrics, so it goes:
"I see the thingy world
And I want it painted black.."
over and over and over!

'I see a red door
and I want to paint it black
No colours anymore
I want them to turn black
I see the girls walk by
dressed in their summer clothes...'
The Strolling Bones, what a classic, Elly

No idea why, or how, because I can't remember the last time I heard it, but ELO's Don't Bring Me Down has been in my head since this morning. But just one bit of it in particular Don't bring me down, no, no, no Whooohooo

Friends are supposed to share
Actually, I don't think I'm going to read this thread anymore...I just get rid of one song and it gets replaced with another

One thing that's been doing my head in for ages is a song by a band called pretty tainted dolls, only local, never got anything recorded. Who've been defunct for about 2years so it's going to be hard to find out. But they did this song and I've no idea if it was a cover or one of there own, and knowing me what I've heard could be completely different.
Something along the lines of...
nobody, nobody, nobody is going to change my mind.
somebody, somebody, somebody oh please god let it die...

Pass over here, nat. Sorry...
What does MY head in is ever having watched the film and bought the CD of Buena Vista Social Club. Such gorgeous songs, but I don't know any spanish, so it's really hard to sing along.
Dos Gardenias got into my head today, and all I could do was pathetically whistle it.

Oh God!
A couple of days ago I saw a programme about 'girl groups'. I woke up the next morning with 'I'm in the Mood for Dancing' by The Nolans going round and round. THE NOLANS! I ask you!
I think it went away yesterday.
Then I saw this article on the BBC website:-
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-17105759
IF you read it, DO NOT, I repeast, DO NOT follow the link and fill out the questionaire. I did and The Bludding Nolans are back.
