The problem with a fetching cat
Evangeline Posted Nov 8, 2009
Life as a cat sees it: Hunt! Naptime. Eat fish! Naptime. Play! Naptime. I can send you a if you want to test that.
My nephew seems to be doing well.
Yesterday- The official forecast: Baton Rouge, LA SEVERE WEATHER ALERT Forecast Details: Sunny. High 76F. Winds E at 5 to 10 mph.
How have y'all been?

Is it severely sunny? The heat (ay 76 degrees) doesn't severe, not the wind at 5 to 10 miles a hour. Is that tropical storm Ida approaching? Is that what they mean?

I don't quite see where is was severe.
My cousin described it as run through the grass barefoot weather. My only problem with it was being stuck inside.
It was 56F this morning and quite nice.
This is the 5 day probability for Ida.

yeah, it does look as if Ida might be dropping in on your area sometime Tuesday or late Monday. Good luck!

Ah, glad that the nephew seems to be doing well! Weather here hasn't been that bad-seasonally-let's see...right now about 3 C, so pretty reasonable.

Has actually been a fairly average Sept.-Oct.-Nov. so far. I remember(late 70's or so)when my brother was in the Air Cadets-& of course marching Nov. 11th. There was a wicked wind, compounding the low temperature, so for marching the distance he needed not only gloves & longjohns but extra socks to keep his feet warm. And I'm sure hot cocoa or whatever was more-than-welcome afterwards!

Can hot cocoa be made with soymilk? (Just curious. I don't necessarily mean to try it...)

I imagine that cocoa can Paul(of course I'm not sure how it stands up to, or tolerates heating. I made a simple faux-mocha this morning: just with a
soy milk http://www.sonice.ca (& a bit of extra cocoa powder). And of course I didn't heat the soy milk, aside from adding it to the hot

I can easily get chocolate soy milk from the supermarket. How did it taste?

I might want to try that sometime. I put a mixture of milk and soy milk in my morning coffee. It wouldn't be hard to use the chocolate form of soy milk, and put a little chocolate syrup in the other milk.

I've cooked with soy milk and rice milk. Didn't have much of a problem with either one, in anything except sauces. Cream sauces and cheese sauces are just not the same. That would be soy cheese sauces, by the way.

Correct me if I'm wrong, Evangeline, but I thought you said something about soy disagreeing with you. No?

Some of the unfermented soy foods are very difficult to near impossible for me to digest. I still had to use them when working in the kitchen at the store, didn't have to eat them.
