Dune is brilliant. I've read it about three times now. I'm struggling a bit with the sequel, though. It's a bit heavy and grim and depressing. Which I really don't need right nowsmiley - smiley

I also like to re-read my TPs. I've readd all of them twice now, bar the Thief of Time, and some I've read three or four times. I agree with an earlier comment that TP seems to be getting better, rather than worse. I like his deeper plots better than the really lighthearted stuff he wrote earlier. It's just slightly more mature, but still includes the wetting-yourself-laughing element.

So there...

Be carefull though, I've discovered that quoting Terry Pratchett out loud to the un-inisiated (sp?) often leads to the kind of bemused smile people usually save for small children and tramps.

Instead why not print out your favorite passages onto a giant sandwich board so everyone can see how funny they are for themselves!

This is bound to get you into Unismiley - biggrin

My friend said there was a new Terry Pratchett book out called The Last Heros. Is this true? I thought the newest on was Thief of Time.

Well, I did it, I went and bought Thief of Time and although I've read a few pages I haven't been in a mood for reading so can't comment on it yet. There is indeed a new Pratchett book out. It's a graphic novel-type thing by the looks of it, illustrated by Josh Kirby (who else?) and it's about Cohen the Barbarian from what I read on the front sleeve.

It looks similar in style to the original 'Eric' for those who can remember back that far. It's about A4 size. Kinda bluey-grey (the new one, not Eric). This is so descriptive smiley - biggrin

Apparently there's a Pratchett kid's book out just now aimed at the 12+ age group, called something along the lines of The Amazing Maurice and his educated rodents. According to the WHSmith christmas catalogue it's definately set on the discworld. Anyone know if it's worth a look?
