Very well done smiley - smiley

Since I've just submitted an entry on Internet Romance, this would be a great tie in for me smiley - winkeye Excellent points you've made here.

Howzit!

I was reading your entry earlier - just a skim read to make sure it was covering different ground to this one - I'll have a closer read later when I've done some more scouting.

I think we can ask the sub-editors to cross link between the two entries when / if they're both accepted!

I only put the cat bit in to see if anyone noticed...

Best wishes

Adam.

Howzit smiley - biggrin Are you South African? Very Afrikaans type greeting there smiley - winkeye

And, obviously, at least ONE person noticed the cat bit smiley - winkeye I liked it though. Love a little well-wiggled-in humor!

In Peer Review at the moment is A741638, which is an entry on a similar subject. Perhaps combining the two would be an idea?

I think we talked about combining the two, but they are on *slightly* different subjects, although hopefully the sub-editors could link the two when (in the case of the other entry) or if (in the case of this one).

But I think combining the two might make the entry a bit too long, and read like it's a bit cobbled together (although this one aleady does!)

Zarquon's Singing Fish!

I think this one is sufficiently different from the other.smiley - smiley Hopefully the Editors will take a similar view.

BTW, if you translate 'Out of sight, out of mind' into Russian and then backwards using a computer translation, you get 'Invisible idiot'!

a girl called Ben

This made me laugh out loud, which is rare for a guide entry; (the Heathcliff gag, if you want to assign the credit correctly).

Can I suggest that you change the ICQ section to include Microsoft Intant Messaging and AOL Instant Messenger? I think Yahoo has a similar thing. You do in the section on Trillian.

I am glad that you have put in so much about the benefits of long distance relationships. I am a big fan of them, because they don't take up too much time and they enable me to remain me and not become 'er indoors. But then I am an independent-minded and cussed bugger.

I am not entirely sure if it isn't two entries, one about emotions and the other about technology, but this is your call, and they do hang together.

Good luck!

B

Hi Ben!

Thanks for your comments - I've made the changes you suggest.

I think you're right about the "two entries" worry. It's obvious where the "collaborative join" is in this entry! I think it just about hangs together - just! But the entry wouldn't be complete without saying something about the internet....

Best wishes

Otto

h2g2 auto-messages

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.

If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.

Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!
