well actually both. I have only used it a few times and it has worked most of the time. It has been used on me a few times and has only worked once.

only in once case was it really the shoes. the others had a lot to do with me consuming more alcohol then i originally inteanded.

But a cool pair of shoes do help alot. The line is good with starting conversations too.

Alchool seems to have that effect on people. So have you given any thought on what you guys want to do when ya'll come down?

I'm up for anything for the most part. Jazz is good, dinner sounds cool, sightseeing, anything.

Depending on how late you guys party I may have to run away cus my last train leaves the city at 0120 but that is well before the places in the city close down.

I take it that we'll be partying for a weekend straight?

Jazz at Cleopatra's Needle is always fun. I'm not sure how they feel about those who might be too young to drink, though. I'll check on it since it's right around the corner from my flat.

Another possible thing to do, especially for those spending the night/weekend in the city is visiting one of NYCs Street Fairs. I checked and there are fairs both weekends (they don't show as being cancelled). For the weekend of the 10th there is:
Nov. 10 Waverly Place bet. Broadway & 5th Ave.
Nov. 11 52nd Street from Lexington to 6th Aves.

If you want to do this bring walking shoes and money to blow on useless items.

I think because of before mentioned posts nice shoes (walking and otherwise) will be on everybodys list of must brings

You could be right.. That being the case I think perhaps the Pink Pussycat might end up on the itinerary..

*can't really afford to stay overnight so may miss out on some of the festivities... not sure*

Well if worst comes to worst we could always try to find couches and such.

There is a thread there for hotel rooms. As there were so few I can't really negotiate any whopper of a deal. I did list a few properties and their websites though.
