only in once case was it really the shoes. the others had a lot to do with me consuming more alcohol then i originally inteanded.

But a cool pair of shoes do help alot. The line is good with starting conversations too.

I'm up for anything for the most part. Jazz is good, dinner sounds cool, sightseeing, anything.

Depending on how late you guys party I may have to run away cus my last train leaves the city at 0120 but that is well before the places in the city close down.

This is going to a quite a weekend! Perhaps I should buy a new pair of shoes for the occasion smiley - winkeye

Jazz smiley - musicalnote at Cleopatra's Needle is always fun. I'm not sure how they feel about those who might be too young to drink, though. I'll check on it since it's right around the corner from my flat.

Another possible thing to do, especially for those spending the night/weekend in the city is visiting one of NYCs Street Fairs. I checked and there are fairs both weekends (they don't show as being cancelled). For the weekend of the 10th there is:
Nov. 10 Waverly Place bet. Broadway & 5th Ave.
Nov. 11 52nd Street from Lexington to 6th Aves.

If you want to do this bring walking shoes and money to blow on useless items. smiley - biggrin

Batty:

You mentioned a motel where you could
get reasonable rates for people. Could
you provide some more info about it?

This whole thread abruptly stopped two
weeks ago, and some of us in Boston
are concerned that the meet-up idea
has stopped going anywhere. Is it still on?

The new address for the NYC meetup is http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A636789

There is a thread there for hotel rooms. As there were so few I can't really negotiate any whopper of a deal. I did list a few properties and their websites though.
