A possible meetup for NYC researchers?

This is so exciting! I'm good every weekend except Oct. 27th, but that's only because TJ (another researcher) will be visiting from Texas. I'm sure he'd be more than thrilled with an h2g2 meet-up (although his 7am flight the next morning may put a damper on things).

So Shea, where are you taking TJ during the visit?

I'm in school. I took off from work, but I still need to go to class. I figured we'd just hit the beach that day. We were going to spend a day in the City. He really wanted to see the Statue of Liberty. I hope it's open by the time he gets here. We were going to head up the Empire State Building also ... you know, the touristy things. We wanted to take an autumn stroll through Central Park ... have some dinner on the West Side, and maybe walk back down through Times Square.

That sounds like a rather wonderful time, Shea.
But wait, have you already met them or...
Er,
I'm confused

But your nickname indicates that you have already met up with...them...

Ah! *I* went to Houston to meet TJ, and we both went to Austin to visit Gosho. TJ is coming here to visit with me later this month. Get it?

This may be the very worst place to do this, but why the hell not. It's Monday night and time for a party:
You know, you look rather familiar...
It's as if...I've met you somewhere before...like in a castle...
Probably just the talking again. Sorry

Speaking of the Statue of Liberty, didn't she
wander the streets of New York in "Ghostbusters II"?
I think that's a good thing, really, because maybe
she can dodge anything that's aimed at her.
Or maybe she can use the torch as a weapon,
striking back at rogue missiles or whatever.
I like to think that she's pretty feisty!

A personal favorite has always been "Nice shoes, wanna f***?"

Very subtle!
Batty, I went to a great restaurant with a friend of mine near the Museum of Natural History. They served a phenomenal duck in a raspberry sauce. I'm going to get the name of the restaurant from him.
