My favourite one has to be the one where Krytens replacement comes.
"No cyberheaven? But where do all the calculators go?"

Funny, but I was quite certain I'd posted here a definitive explanation of the American version of Red Dwarf... it appears I didn't. In case I did, don't read this. And in case I didn't, I shall recap, but briefly:
NBC picked up the show. They made a pilot. It sucked. It didn't air. Jane Leeves, who's Frasier's Daphne, was Holly.
I thought I'd posted the entire cast but evidently I dreamt the whole thing.

A bit of research (all right, so this wasn't what I was looking for) has turned up a photo of the American cast.
And pardon my saying so, but gag.
Here's hoping that link worked.

Smegma is the cheesy substance that will accumilate under the foreskin if not washed for a week Therefore a smeg head is an unwashed... you know what what I mean.
Smegma is mans natural lubrication for intercourse.

I think I should point out that Grant and Naylor, the creators of Red Dwarf, have denied the connection between Smeg and smegma. They wanted a futuristic all-purpose swear word, and they thought "Smeg" sounded good.

I tried 'splaining that in another forum but no one believed me. I think I even quoted one of the guys. I don't remember though. Maybe I didn't. But I did explain it, and nobody did believe me.

Grey Area Posted Aug 25, 1999
The Grey Area would like to make it ABSOLUTELY CLEAR at this point that he has NEVER BEEN ON A BENDER, NO MATTER HOW DRUNK HE HAS BEEN! I have sat and watched Red Dwarf for an entire evening, and got so plastered that I woke up with the tape rewound, but THAT IS ALL!
Thankyou.
This has been a Grey Area announcement. Coffee and lemon scented towels will be served shortly. 100 Knife missiles are on their way to Logan 5.

Problem, currently even Logan 5 does not know which planet he is on.
Did he ever, come to think of it.
Should have seen the state he was in last night though............
Oh Dear, oh dear.....

I completely agree, Red Dwarf rocks the universe!! Although I think the slightly older series are better, and I was only slightly disappointed with the last series they showed on the telly. Some of you probably are thinking "what the smeg is she on about?" but I'm sure there is some one out there that agrees with me. And just a small mention of my friend Arron, who is also a big Red Dwarf fan, and also my step-dad Steve. Long live Red Dwarf!!!!!!

Its nice to see that you think British TV can make a good programe once in a while. There are some other very good ones, I wonder if they ever get shown there? Hopefully someone will reply with some of the good shows that we make hear so that you can pester your cable company to broadcast them.

The Wisest Fool Posted Nov 24, 1999
A warning for non-Brits. If you ever see a TV *ahem* comedy programme called "Babes In The Wood" advertised anywhere please do not watch it. I think the 'format' has been sold to the States, so be very very afraid.
