The Researcher formally known as Dr St Justin Started conversation Feb 21, 2000
Hi all! Seeing as Peta hasn't got this weeks welcome up yet, I thought I'd do it. You never know when a new user might come along, all lost and worried.
Well, the thing to do is find someone to ask. It might take a while to get a reply, but you'll get one. And the aces are always woreth asking if you're really stuck.
See y'all around!!

Hmmm, yes it was Monday -- and I didn't even notice. Vacation, they call it and it sure was nice Actually of the "unplugged" variety -- highest tech thing was a (non-Wap) mobile...
Good to see that the world still stands!

I am new here and have a question
Is there a point to all the forums that i see in here or is it all just for people to talk about life ?

You should make your cat buy you a new keyboard
The forums are for anything and everything you want them to be, within reason of course (there are a *few* rules, mostly common sense rules asking people to be nice). Serious discussions, goofy pointless conversations, fun and games, philosophical arguments, long-distance communication, virtual drinking parties.......they are all part of the forums.
Participate however you like, but make sure to enjoy.

what you will find here is that most of the people who enjoy Douglas Adams have fantastic imaginations and are also quite bright....this tends to keep the site very interesting to say the least....some days you may be in a serious mood and others you may be in a playful mood, does not matter, you can find anything for any mood right here
.
.
and as for Deadlock and his cat/keyboard problem...try one of those plastic covers that goes over the keyboard...they are moulded to fit the keyboard so you can still type while it is covering it...and the best part is......your cat can't give you fits

Just popping in here to say hello. I'm new as a couple of days ago and I'm enjoying checking out the different forums. Be warned though, I am another frightful American. But don't worry I've never been on Springer and can't stand the show anyhow. I sat next to some guests on an airplane once and that was bad enough.

Hi Chi-Gal. I see from your homepage that the "chi" refers to Chicago. It's a great place - I was once a Chi-Boy. Are you a Cubs or Sox fan?
New users w/c 21 February 2000
Chi-Gal Posted Feb 22, 2000
Like all red-blooded Northsider I'm a Cubs fan. I wavered for a bit when I was feeling rebellious but there's nothing like Wrigley Field and an afternoon game in the summertime. The curse of the billy goat is still holding strong and I'm pretty happy about that. Fair weather fans need not apply.

Welcome to all! That no-space, all period thing is quite interesting... I like the way it forces the forum to go all the way to the side... or I would if I had done it. It's a tad anoying to read. But still cool

Heh, I have a new Keyboard now so I'm back to using spaces. Personally I found the extended forum panel annoying. When I first saw it I thought half my posting was missing, hence its there twice, only the second time round did I notice the horizontal scroll.

Here pusspusspusspuss!
Are you really Irving Washington or are you Washington Irving?
I need to get more sleep.
Hi folks, I'm about a week old on h2g2 but I only found this forum today. If there are any other Australian researchers out there, join me and Rocket Rod for a beer in the Aussie Researchers forum: http://www.h2g2.com/A193303
Cheers
