Mmm, Jelly
The Fish Posted Nov 1, 2000
* ... Knew that he wasn't joking*
*chuckles*
You did media studies .... *grins*
*chuckles some more....*
*Realises he's probably going to be hurt for this..... but continues chuckling.......*
.... *clears throat* .....
Right sorry about that.....
Yes, definitely better to estimate than use dodgy research
Mmm, Jelly
Tinkerbell *tumbleweed* Posted Nov 1, 2000
*looks mildly annoyed*
Do you have a problem with media which you'd like to discuss perhaps?
Mmm, Jelly
The Fish Posted Nov 2, 2000
No not at all.... It was just that there were various jokes about Media Studies shared between me and my friends.... and it reminded me of them, that's all.... I'm sure it's a very nice subject and that it's a useful A level to have *grins*
Mmm, Jelly
Tinkerbell *tumbleweed* Posted Nov 2, 2000
*has reason to doubt his sincerity*
Hmmm...I suspect they're the similar kind of jokes my brother had about Media Studies as he did many overly complex things at A-Level and degree, in fact I'd bet if I said that I did Geography GCSE I'd get a similar response...oh and art and graphic design, they always raise laughter...
*waits for laughter and remains looking mildly annoyed as Fish has unwittingly managed to find one of her issues*
*grins to make sure he knows she's not annoyed with him it's just a bad subject...realises the potential to add "Like Media Studies" so considers changing the wording*
Mmm, Jelly
The Fish Posted Nov 3, 2000
*tries to convince her otherwise*
Yes, ok so they were probably similar, but at least YOU did A-Levels
I just sit around all day, and get highly paid jobs for doing sod-all
And NO I wouldn't laught at Geography! Or Art! or Graphics! I did geography and art, and almost did graphics, but did umm..... some other tech thing instead So
And I didn't even complete English at GCSE so..... umm...... hmmm.... *shrugs*
Mmm, Jelly
Tinkerbell *tumbleweed* Posted Nov 5, 2000
*grins*
Well you wouldn't be the first to mock as you may have gathered but the other options were maths, physics and chemistry and that would've made me so bored
*wonders if Fish is still laughing*
This is going to sound really feeble but there is more to it than watching films you know...and if I'm going to be a journalist it seems a sensible subject to d
Mmm, Jelly
The Fish Posted Nov 5, 2000
Quite.... so, why do you want to be a journalist What are your motivations
*Fish is almost always laughing at something*
Besides they're all great subjects I'd have enjoyed them imencely, but you wouldn't've done... I guess it's all a matter of choice
Mmm, Jelly
Tinkerbell *tumbleweed* Posted Nov 5, 2000
*looks confused as everythings backwards*
Errr...it was journalism or rally driving and my schools careers advisor got fed up of telling me that presenting Top Gear wasn't a valid career choice so she made me go for the more sensible of the two on my uni applications
Hmmm, like Tinkerbells are always grinning at something? Fair enough
Yeah well I would've enjoyed bits of them vaguely but I just found them all so dull...it probably also results from my old maths teacher telling me at the age of 11 that I was going to do advanced level maths and then go on to do a Maths degree. Luckily my mathematical brain is also a very awkward and stubborn brain and so I did exactly the opposite of whatever anyone told me hence the Englsih, Psychology and Media Studies
*waits for the laughter to finish*
Though I wouldn't have minded doing Maths if I'd done Graphics as then I could have been graphic designer but they didn't do it at our sixth form.
*grins*
Still I managed to convince them of the fact that they should have done it but winning this design competition thingy which didn't half annoy them as they would've got the school in the paper if they had
Mmm, Jelly
Tinkerbell *tumbleweed* Posted Nov 6, 2000
*grins*
Don't mock I got them to write out a full long term career plan of how I was going to present Top Gear but then it got spotted by those in authority and I had to make a 'sensible' one
Mmm, Jelly
The Fish Posted Nov 7, 2000
I wasn't mocking at all!!!! Infact I think it's a great plan!
Personally I wouldn't mind doing the bike bit on there
Mmmmm.... ninja, fireblade, ducati, truimph........
*lapses into dream world*
Mmm, Jelly
Tinkerbell *tumbleweed* Posted Nov 7, 2000
Hmmm...
We could launch a rival show...ooh and then I could get motorbike lessons for free as we could give them ad space
Mmm, Jelly
The Fish Posted Nov 7, 2000
Sounds like a good plan!
And could I get to play with some Monster Trucks
Hmm..... what about things like Driven, and ummm.... all those other "rival" shows?
Mmm, Jelly
Tinkerbell *tumbleweed* Posted Nov 7, 2000
Ooh Monster trucks...only if you let me passenger, such fun we could drive over the top of so much stuff
Nah, Driven's pants, the only good thing about it is Jason Plato...
*grins slyly*
...who, on the several occasions I've met him, has been a very nice bloke
Mmm, Jelly
The Fish Posted Nov 30, 2000
*Wonders what the was for....*
Of course you can ride in it too...
*Takes Tink's word at the character of Mr Plato...*
Mmm, Jelly
Tinkerbell *tumbleweed* Posted Dec 16, 2000
*can't remember what the was for so is equally confused*
Yeah, monster truck racing
*is pleased as Plato's a very nice bloke*
