Hello, welcome to H2G2's Official Ministry Of Jelly and if you're are new here welcome to H2G2 itself Here you'll find many useful links to Jelly and Jelly fans around the site and as promised you also get somewhere to eat Fruit Pastilles without people moaning at you for dropping bits of silver foil on the floor...
So if you'd just like to take a seat on one of our jelly sponsored inflatable chairs then the jelly trolley will be around shortly

Certainly! I'm more of a Red man, but the Minister has already consumed those in the name of "research" the dark ones are mine, and you can help yourself to the oranges

*Appears wearing a hostess costume and pushing a dessert trolley whilst trying to remember how many 's' were supposed to be in that*
Hello...wow two people queueing a success already
*stands in front of the inflatable sofas and demonstrates the various options hoping that soemone will pick the green jelly rabbit*
Of course there's orange ones left EV...and the red ones were eaten for research...think of all the additives in them, don't know what effect that could have on people

Well, I sort of popped it in my mouth and chewed it a bit until it was sufficiently broken up to allow me to swallow it, at which point it went down my alimentary canal into my stomach, where my digestive juices broke it up into its constituent parts......... is this really what you wanted to know?

*passes another jelly rabbit to EV and watches to see if he eats the head first*

Not wanting to correct an esteemed Medical Prectitioner such as your self Doc,
But seeing as it was a mainly sugar based confectionary. Would the amalayse enzyme in your saliva, have firstly broken down these into glucose, whilst still in your throat...??? Being that, one in the stomach, the pH levels are so dfferant that the amalayze dies...??
... Only a thought...

*wonders if she's finally found a use for foolishly having memorised diagrams of the digestive and circulatory systems*
Hmmm... actually you'll note that sugars, amino acids and glycerol are small molecules and can pass easily without being broken broken down thus amylase is not needed as it's only used for bigger molecules such as starch, proteins and fats...and if you like I can give specific enzyme names for them
*wonders who knew that GCSE biology would ever come in so useful*
