Scripture. Would you care to tell us why you think you can pick and choose the elements of scripture you please, yet still call yourself a 'christian'?

My little list of scriptural proscriptions on the rights of women according to two men who you and I have argued over before (I said they were mysogynists and you said they weren't) is a case in point and allows us to concentrate out debate around a single instance rather than wander all over the NT.

Any chance of an answer on this one?

Compared to some of the behaviour we have seen here, it is relatively mild. I think my good friend Az is just tired of Vicky capering about brandishing this like some clever discovery.

Az has a very strong web presence, and one that does her and her partner great credit. She also has literally hundreds of virtual and actual friends as a result of her humanity and kindness, so has nothing to fear from Vicky's blunt attempts at intimidation.

The use of such threats reflects badly only on the user.

Indeed it does and I'm glad that the threat is relatively meaningless in this instance.

To go back to the analogy, just because one of her bullets has damp powder doesn't imply we should tolerate her brandishing a firearm. Net exposure is a filthy, inexcusable act of cowardice and perfectly reflective of the person who threatens it.

It's beyond me why this site would tolerate it.

As EtB said elsewhere, I don't doubt you sincerely believe this, but neither do I doubt the sincerity of those who feel otherwise (and not just because I happen to agree with them). Of course, it's likely the case that the opposite is true, too, and that believers feel that the rationalists haven't answered questions put to them. Sometimes one has to dig a little deeper to see how this happens.

The facts are you issued death threats against me. this is an unddeniable fact. Another undeniable fact is that you started two threads falsley of accussing me of hacking you dead brother's Uspace.

You have never apologized for either of these things without adding the caveats that, although I didnt do the farmer it was the kind of thing I woudl do and that's why you accussed me (I do not know how and wouldnt wish to hack your dea brother's account) and that when you issued death threats against me it was somehow *my fault* you did.

As you well know I dont need to try any empathy I have been subject to racist abuse from you and poorly formed attempts at humour about my sexuality from your son on several of his sockpuppet accounts. So I KNOW what its like to be a "target".

As it happens I do shrug it off and only bring such things up to counter point your deceitful attempts to cast yourself as some kind of innocent victim of a campaign of hate from atheists.

Lurking occasionally I find it difficult to isolate what it is that TAFKAD does that so infuriates.... is it the trite posts consisting as they do of "that's right", "Iagree". "hmm you put it so much better than I could" or is it the ones that have a majority of re quoting someone else's words and then dismissing them out of hand or is it those that are just derogatory?

I once thought that the worst thing about TAFKAD was the bitter and twisted denial of being wrong or simply mistaken and the inability to recognise that, admit it and let civilised discussion move on. Then I thought it was a basic defensiveness that read everything through that prism and heard all that was written as an attack. Then I thought the greatest failing was a massive ability to MISREAD people - so many times TAFKAD has just gone completly off on a tangent sooooo unrelated to the posters meaning- just about everyone else recognises what was meant AND in what spirit but NOT TAFKAD.

NOW... I don't care, well apart from giving this region a bad reputation... hey folks don't judge us by TAFKAD

Anyway the next post hopefully gives some context to recent claims.... you might want to copy cause it may not be around long.

Interesting it was almost immediately "yikesed" and yet what it basically contained was a factual account of the circumstances involving the "death threat " incident.

An account that contradicts TAFKAD account that it all was a "lie". Strangely the original is still there.

Why was this rebuttal of TAFKAD's assertion removed?

You know, there's no point in changing your name if you don't also change your behaviour. The 'Sword of Dellacles' was a jokey (and rather clever, if I say so myself) response to your most recent recurring threat. If you don't like it, then don't threaten people. Simple.

Meanwhile, it's hardly *persecution* or *bullying* to poke fun at someone's absurd behaviour, especially when they insist on presenting themselves in this manner in public.
