I know, the ers These days, you're not even allowed to smoke outside most places. Seriously!! Down in New Mexico, where I used to live, they've got most of Santa Fe, the capitol of NM, shut down, there's signs all over the ing place, including outside, that say "NO SMOKING EXCEPT IN DESIGNATED AREAS". This is OUTSIDE, for sake!!!
ers... I genuinely enjoy smoking, dammit, and they shouldn't be able to restrict my actions like that. Lunacy!
, mate!

Never a truer word!
My son recently returned from a holiday in the States, motoring all the way down the West coast, and he was telling me the same story.
It`s not as bad here, but it`s heading that way.
Recently, on a drive around our Peak district, we stopped off at a pub for a drink and a bite to eat. I`m sat there, enjoying a cigarette, when this old fart comes up and says " do you mind not smoking, we are eating" Yes I do in mind says I, you see these quaint glass bowl type things, they`re called ashtrays, and that means it`s ok to smoke! Now bear in mind there was a "No Smoking", area a few yards away in the restaurant section, but this pillock wasn`t happy with that..he wanted the whole damn Pub to be smokeless.
He complained to the Landlord, but got short shrift from him!
It was a great delight to me to see this obnoxious couple pick up their plates, and move away,
Ok, rant over, (with apologies to the non-smoking fraternity who will read this and think it unreasonable )
Erm...pass the ashtray over Thog, and have a with me..

well.. I'm a nonsmoker, but I'm not of the whiney type. Smoke actually doesn't bother me. I just don't smoke.
IMHO you did the right thing, Lurcher dear. If there was a no smoking section the er should have been there rather than complaining about someone smoking where they're actually allowed to. Dumb ol' uppity

My sentiments exactly, Batty, but there`s always someone who thinks the world revolves round themselves.
Does `em good to learn otherwise, now and again.

Just run a quick google check...all becomes clear now
No, it wasn`t her, this one was all tweeds and brogues, with a face like a bag full of spanners

Batty_ACE Posted Sep 20, 2002
cept for the brogues it could have been... of course you have to admire someone who can amass a huge empire from being uppity and having way too much time on her in' hands..

I think it would be appropriate for my last words on this thread (for the time being) to be the following:
Martha Stewart. She's an old who hasn't been ed or gotten any in like three hundred years, nd has only survived by feeding off innocent souls. that ing .
There. That works.
Y'all have fun whilst I'm away, y'hear?
