And why wasn't I invited

In the past three days I think I've only had six or seven conversation updates, and three of those were in one thread for an entry of Bluebottle's that I'm sub-editing.

I'm going home and I'm taking my ball with me

I was fairly disconnected after Wednesday night at the bike rally my former chapter holds each year. I didn't have to work Monday Morning (thanks to the republican house tea party s) so I stayed out drinking Sunday night. Monday, of course, I was just too bleeuerghl to make much comment on anything.

But, even after 5 days, more or less, incommunicado, I came back here to an eerily short convo list.

I can't blame that on the Shut-Storm in Washington.

Dammit... should have perv viewed that for content clarity... oh, well.

2legs is away on holiday, isn't he? And it all goes eerily quiet... Maybe we're discovering which ones are his alter-egos...

Hey... nothing for sure yet... but I was just looking at booking a room in Austin and found out that it's an ACL weekend... How far out of downtown do I have to get to avoid that? (I was looking at Austin Motel, but obviously, that's now out.... until the 13th.... then... I dunno. (yes, I've been drinking...) )

I think a lot of us are here, just not creating conversation. We'll step out of the shadows to say hi (hi!) but just not in an outgoing mood.

Does make for a quiet h2g2 though.

I'm here, but not usually in this account. By the time I've done all the stuff needed in the role of GE, I've no energy left to socialise.

And yes, it's great to have Gosho subbing for us. Doing a grand job, so he is. :D

I'm only here now because I should be doing something else boring, washing packing and cleaning. Things I detest doing.

It doesn't give the *best* impression of the site when you hear a GE saying "I'm only here because I should be doing something boring that I detest..."

I tend to work, to be honest, and when I'm not at work, I pester the volunteers off site, being Ops and all that. And then I'm too tired to be interesting too...

I was a Scout before, Vip, years ago when it was still all fields and woodland around here. This is my first crack at subbing.

BG, I'm only a couple of miles south of downtown and ACL has little or no effect on me, apart from the fact that I can hear it if the wind's in the right direction. It's pretty localised on Zilker Park. But yeah, you won't have much luck finding a hotel room this weekend. I'd offer to put you up at Fort Gosho if I had a guest wing... instead of a postage stamp-sized efficiency

If you can't get a place at the Austin Motel there's always the Hotel San Jose a few hundred yards south along South Congress. Very picturesque, but a bit pricey.

Either way, I'll deffo stand you a pint or two if you come up next week,
