Back from a Bank Holiday weekend. I spent Saturday waving Polish flags and photographing postboxes on the Island (hopefully the reason for the flag-waving will be in next week's ), Sunday repairing the shed roof, which has been leaking as a result of all the drought we've been having, and yesterday we took the kids to a farm, where they fed some kids, calves, held chicks and pedalled toy tractors. Never underestimate the entertainment value contained within a humble straw bale. You can climb on it, jump off it, climb on it again ad infinitum.

It's odd how, at a certain age, repition seems to be what amuses kids the most. I remember my niece sitting on my lap, pointing out her favourite song in a book. Obediently, I sang it and then turned the page to the next song - but she resolutely turned the leaf back, requesting it to be sung again. And again. And again. After several attempts of singing something else, I eventually gave up after about a dozen times and finally managed to distract her.

The ban-collie-day weekend was spent up in the lake district near Keswick with a bunch of friends I made at university along with their respective partners and for those than have them children. Very nice it was even if I still ache a bit from walking up Blencarthra!

Hi Sporky, it's great to see you.
The site has been having some issues as Pliny is settling in. I'm glad you found a work around.

Snuck in to look around and ran face-first into Pliny.
...this is going to take some getting used to...

Oh, not only one but two returnees - yes, that first wham-in-your-face-Pliny was a bit of a surprise, but if you just click on a link in your skin of preference (I always have my MP page bookmarked in Goo) it'll soon soothe your sences...

How come 'sence' doesn't make 'sense'? I'm a bit curious about the construction behind it all...

Oh, and the background story is that I happened to be waiting for our office coffee machine to make me a cup of strong coffee - obviously, it first grinds it but, judging by the time it takes to actually produce coffee I'm starting to suspect it also roasts the beans first. Hmmm..
And.... *a seems to emerge from Ti's head and flutters out the open patio doors*
Damn - I seem to have lost my train of thought - and coffee in the evening? Eh, no. Ah, well - carry on, as you where.

Good Doctor Zomnker (This must be Tuesday," said GDZ to himself, sinking low over his Dr. Pepper, "I never could get the hang of Tuesdays.") Posted May 9, 2012
J had to take my car today because I needed to transport something and hers has a roof rack. She tells me that my front driver side tire is really low when she got off work. I can see this but don't see any cause. Off to the tire store in the morning.
