That all makes sense - I only ate Musli and fruit before so nothing increadly tiring - all quite long acting carbohydrates, well apart from the fruit. This normally keeps me going until lunch, but right after swimming I was starving hungry.
Interesting fact - after a meal up to a third of your blood supply can be redirected to the gut. As I am trying to swim on the way to work this will mean taking a pack breakfast as well as a pack lunch.
This evening I went jogging - and I realised a fact I have been trying to avoid for 7 years. I am asthmatic - I hate the idea of being asthmatic so I have been avoiding this for weeks. I'm awfully tempted to self prescribe some Salbutamol and see if it gets better - obviously this is not the best care I could have.I'm wheezing every time I run for more than, er, two minutes - really classic asthma type wheeze, oh and I get coughs every winter, once for twelve months at a time. I always found that I seem to get bronchitis every winter.
Oh balls. I don't want to be asthmatic. Balls Balls Balls.

A lot of people here in Oz are susceptible to asthma, particularly in Spring, when the native flora stars to flower. Some s recommend swimming as it forces the lungs to open right up. Feel for you

Mr. Dreadful - But really I'm not actually your friend, but I am... Posted Sep 13, 2006
*Nonchalantly picks up the WD40, sprays on finger and slips off wedding ring before turning to Greensleeves.*
Now, how about that lunch? *checks time* Hmm... bit late for that... dinner?

Aside from the green skin, slavering jaws, big greasy teeth, cavernous nostrils and the large rusty axe I always carry around, I do not resemble a troll at all.
> If I'm swimming in the morning should I have breakfast before or afterwards.
Z, metabolically speaking they say it doesn't really matter whether you eat before you exercise or whatever... As long as you're not exercising when you're physically hungry, as it can make you dizzy. I like to exercise before eating, but I never have time these days.
Personally I can't eat before swimming - the food sits there and becomes buoyant, and it makes me burp. The problem is, I can't burp until my stomach has gotten out of the water, which means I end up jumping around in the pool, and burping, and looking like a fool. Or maybe a walrus.

I'm enjoying the image of a wooly mammoth swimming to work... What, do you live on an island?

Wooly, there's no possibility that it's chronic bronchitis?

We have done a big thing, here. We have sold a piece of land that we have had for 14 years, 80 acres. Tomorrow we will be paying off the mortgage on our home.
I am so excited and happy I can hardly sit still.
Tonight we go out to dinner to celebrate. Y'all have a wonderful evening!

*is somewhat concerned by the situation that appears to be developing with regard to Greensleeves and Mr Dreadful, but is a British owl and dare not interfere*
Ahem.
Well...
*shuffles feet and retreats to the mammoth's back*

As long as 'situations' *one can hear the quotes in Lil's enunciation* are carried on in good taste and preferably in a witty and epigrammatic manner, I have no objection to their occurrence at the atelier.

Can I get a backlog exemption please? I've been down for the last 2 days with Strep.
