You sure got me there, my friend
I was born in Geordieland so we actually were very close to the Scots.
And the sound of the 'pipes still is

*opens her eyes, trying hard to look as if she has been awake all along*
What did I miss, darlings?
*our diva seems surprisingly chipper after all those creme de menthes*
dbgibulli, darling, so far you've been gratuitiously rude about wives (you get less for murder) and Scotland (the best thing about it is the road out).
Could you possibly just give us a hate-list so that we know what subjects you are going to be unnecessarily nasty about and we can just avoid them? The Atelier is a sanctuary, and we don't come here to be insulted.
*peers around the assembled company*
Oh, sorry, I should have added a to that. I wouldn't want you to think I MEANT it, or anything.
*hiccoughs mintily*
Matina, sweetheart, a cup of green tea, do you think?
*the diva spies the Bondage Bean Bag, and settles down to make herself comfortable*
Oh, and hello to everyone else who is new since I was last here.

Hate List , nothing and no-one . But we can all take the Mickey out of each other, surely, for fun and laughter.

*Does a Wonderwoman spin and appears in a worsted three-piece with all the appropiate accessories, sidles up to Greensleeves.*
Good morning my dear.

It's a calling card - indicating that you have read so far and have nothing extra to add to the discussion.
Just making your presence felt to be honest.

They are calling cards, used to indicate that the person in question hasn't got time to chat but is still around.

It's a useful way of saying that you've read a comment without having to feel you need to comment on every single post.
Incidently I have a question to those of you that excericse. If I'm swimming in the morning should I have breakfast before or afterwards. Today I had breakfast before and was really hungry all morning. But if I wait until afterwards would it mean I was less likely to loose weight?

From the main Atelier page:
"We try to live by the tenets of netiquette at our salon. If you are making a morning call to pay your respects but don't have time to dwell, please do not bookmark us: rather, leave a calling card in the ongoing conversation. A few polite words make such a difference!"
It's well worth reading the whole of that page and checking out the external information about the Atelier. It gives you a much better idea of who we are and what we're up to.
*David leaves his satchel in a corner and goes for a quick fly around the garden to stretch his wings*

I am one of those that can't stand the sight of food early in the morning, crazy I know. But after a at the beach, I feel famished and eat like you would't believe. I know, but I've been stuck at 75Kg for yonks.

I am afraid that you are all wrong, but you'd not know. God's own land is in Southern Utah and Northern Arizona. The Colorado Plateau is surely blessed.
