Just got back from a seriously strange shadowrun. My character has just changed races, if not species.

I shall want to hear all about it, Marv.
Hope you continue enjoying yourself, sea. And I'm glad that you were well enough to go.

Shadowrun? Wasn't that a game for the super nintendo, about vampires controlling a volcanoe or sume-such? Bloody difficult game. Truly revolutionary though.

WHAT was that about fining all Floridians???
*points wordlessly at the high school graduate who designed the notorious butterfly ballot*
*points wordlessly at the Secretary of State for Florida*
*points wordlessly at the GOP legal "team"*
*points wordlessly at the demonstrators organised by Tom DeLay of Texas who disrupted the recount in one of the Florida precincts*
*points wordlessly at the US Supremes*
*gets her voice back*
The Florida experience should warn you in respect of fining registered voters who fail to use their vote: can you trust that your vote was properly recorded? What will you say if you voted and you still get a summons in the mail?

I had a different if no less troublesome problem in the last election. Living in a state where every presidential election has been a landslide for the GOP in my lifetime, it it useless to vote your conseince.

Marv, are you saying you'd vote if there were no Electoral College?
40Xth Conversation at Lil's
SE Posted Nov 10, 2001
I know I certainly would. The electoral college is an outdated system.

I voted anyway as a symbolic attack on the political reality that is Utah Politics. I do not live in the city that ever gets a real choice, so I cannot really excercise my vote in a way that is meaning full. I still excercise it however, because to complain and do nothing is as bad as doing the wrong thing to begin with.
