Phew - what a relief!
I'll drink like a fish to celebrate. Thank you very much!
BTW: Today is a good day for it: I'm going to watch the Champions League final between Real Madrid and FC Valencia tonight (genuine football, you know).
Happy chanuka (in my timezone we are only 7 month away from christmas today - I can almost smell the roast duck - ooops, I meant steamed carrots...)

Sorry for putting this off for a while. I've been too busy to update the page for the past few days. I'll try to do it sometime this weekend.

Sorry, that wasn't really that much was it?
I am vegetarian, no fish. Also only free range / RSPCA eggs. Thinking of becoming vegan, but at the moment my mother won't let me, maybe next year when I go to uni, but I don't know how I'd cope...
I'd write something relevant to what has been said before, only too much has been said, so I didn't even read half of it... there you go.

I could have sworn I'd said I'd be a member of this months ago. Anyhow. I might have had my doubts then whether such a society was a good idea - I think there's a problem with creating a 'them and us' attitude between vegetarians and meat eaters. However, a place for encouraging 'meals without meat' is a good idea. Restaurants in particular still have this bizarre mindset that singles out vegetarian dishes as something odd.
I'm a strict vegetarian (no meat, no fish, no gelatine and certainly no chicken - I am *not* a 'new' vegetarian!). I would like to join, if possible.

I apologize for the delay. Let's break out the old excuse book, shall we? Let's see-I was going to do it Friday, but something bad happened that I'd rather keep private. I wanted to do it Saturday, but some unexpected things came up that I had to attend to. I wanted to do it last night, but I fell asleep early, exhausted by the events of the weekend. But today is Memorial Day here in the US and it's considered to be an extension to the weekend since it's a national holiday. So it still counts. ;-P
Anyway, I added all the new members. Swinehund, Pierce, mkorsakov, Njan, Researcher 124402, and Cakewalker, welcome to the H2G2 Vegetarian Society!
I also updated the Recipe of the Week. I think I'll do a vegan recipe every other week and a non-vegan on the remaining weeks. This is a non-vegan week. The recipe is for Fettuccine Alfredo, and it's making me very hungry. I guess it's in my blood (I'm half Italian). Anyway I put a question mark after "ovo" because I can't remember if Fettuccine has eggs in it. Does anyone know?
Finally I added the news item that Lux presented. Thanks again Lux! If anyone sees any online news about vegetarian related subjects please let me know. Also, if anyone has anything vegetarian related that they would like to write about (recipes, info, opinions, etc.) I would be happy to link to it. Thanks everyone!

Getting a bit quiet around here, hmmm? I notice we don't seem to be on The Overwhelmingly Large Guide to h2g2 Clubs at http://www.h2g2.com/A270325 - might be a good idea, 'specially seeing as it's only a few clicks away from the front page.
Prob'ly best if you head along and suggest it, Zarquon...
On a completely different topic, my family are now aware than I'm vegetarian so I can revel in the position of being both vegetarian *and* not eating any meat. Which is nice...

Well at least I didn't miss much! About 3 weeks ago my modem stopped working and I have been without internet access ever since. As a result I was unable to update the page and for this I apologize. They finally fixed it today. I have a lot of things to catch up with, but as long as my modem keeps working I should have everything updated in time for next week's recipe. And it looks like I missed an applicant. Very sorry Ferroc. I will add you to the list. I also will check out that club guide. Thanks 26199.

I added Ferroc and Tinkerbell to the list, and I updated the recipe of the week. I know it's a little early but the old one was up for 3 weeks. BTW, does anyone have any idea why there are links to h2g2 pages that are completely unrelated, like The Star Wars Fan? I checked the code to make sure all my links were right, and they appear to be so. This is really weird. Oh well. I think they're changing the Guide ML and maybe there's a few glitches. It's funny more than anything.

"No. I've just been jabbing it too hard."
Just to let you know, the H2G2 Vegetarian Society is now listed on the Overwhelmingly Huge List of H2G2 Clubs, or whatever it's called. And apparently I'm a chef, which is quite a surprise considering that the most complicated dish I can cook without making a complete mess is pre-packaged pasta.

I just added a pathetic little logo to the front page. I'm not a very good artist and I don't know much about graphic design, so it's the best I could come up with for now. If anyone wants to make a better one, that would be great. Come to think of it, we're going to need a float for next year's h2g2 anniversery parade, and it's never to early to start planning. Any volunteers?

OK, big update:
1. I added Pegasus, Gwennie, and Gedge to the list. Welcome to the H2G2 Vegetarian Society!
2. I fixed that link error. Bruce told me I needed to change all the "LINK H2G2"s to "LINK BIO"s for researcher numbers. It didn't matter before but when they changed the Guide ML they made it be like that.
3. I added Demon Drawer's recipe for Mixed Bean Harira and Pegasus' article about vegetarians to the list of h2g2 articles. Thanks guys!
4. I put a little notice near the top of the page about Vegetarian Week and in the news section there's a link to the UK Vegetarian Society's page about it.
5. I omitted some sentences from the early days that screamed "desperate for members".
I think that covers it all.
