HI... ~grin~... at the moment we are waiting for our brand spanking new spaceships to arrive... please keep an eye on this space for further updates...

SallyM Posted Mar 29, 2000
Can I put a pre-spaceship-arriving request to have a go. I just can't wait to be zooming around the station in my little ship.
Zoom, Zooooom, Zooooooooooooooom.
See having a go already, (and getting strange looks from people in my computing workshop)

Our new ships have just arrived, sorry about the delay... There are now plenty of short-distance-freighters, some pretty normal-looking transport ships and one very big ship that is almost a space station, except it has an excellent hyperdrive. Any of these can be altered in any way - our staff would be happy to install any imaginative technology in them or paint them with shocking colors... Any orders??
And SallyM: You've got one reserved already - what kind of ship would it be? And you probably need a hangar too...

*Enters for work, smiling unnervingly* What's it gonna take to put you in that big, hyperdrive ship today?

So, Mr. Washington, how much would it cost me to get a brand new transport fully equiped with infinite improbability drive, power steering and AM/FM radio? Black if possible. Keep in mind that I am the station's Security Chief and thus can find out if you are lying.

marvthegrate LtG KEA Posted Mar 31, 2000
So umm I need a *really* fast starship with moderate cargo storage and passanger capability of 100 or so. If I want to take my congregation for a ride somewhere I need some space..

Prices prices... why do we have to talk prices so early? First of all, Big Evil Dan, I want to show you this modle over here. It's got the drive and the radio you want, plus a dozen more extra features like CD player and sub space communicator. We'll talk prices when we've found out which one you like
As for you, our revered Archbishop, We've got this lovely modle over here that has a passanger capacity of about 130, little cargo space, hyperspace drive, and a new modification on the front... that makes it look like the Pope Mobile! I can get it to you at the low low price of an absolution for myself...

marvthegrate LtG KEA Posted Mar 31, 2000
Irv, yer absolved! So hows about a test drive?
>> Spaceship Rental <<
Irving Washington - Gone Writing Posted Mar 31, 2000
Here's the key, the computer will allow you a brief test drive in normal space before bringing you back under autopilot. For the purpose of this test flight, the hyperspace drive has been disabled. *hands over keys*

I must say, I like this ship, but it is held together with duct tape. I'm not sure if duct tape will maintain structural integrity in the depths of space. I'll take this model, but a new one, please.
>> Spaceship Rental <<
Irving Washington - Gone Writing Posted Apr 1, 2000
Duct tape holds the Universe together, surely it will hold up in the void of space! But be that as it may, here is the newer modle, which comes complete with rivets and welded joints, rather than the industry standard duct tape construction... would you like to take a test drive?

Mornin', Irv. Got anything suitable for me? I was thinking about something like that black ship that you sold to Hotblack Desiato some time ago.

Archangel Big 'Evil' Dan Posted Apr 1, 2000
I would very much like a test drive. Thank you Irving.

Thank you, Greebo! Dr John, I suppose that you're speaking of the Black Hole Sun modle I sold that Rock Star? Or perhaps the Military Flagship model is more your liking? Step this way, sir and tell me if you see anything to your liking

That was interesting! But umm you might ask the auto pilot *not* to go through a star on the way back to the dealership. Nevertheless I think that the church will take this one.
>> Spaceship Rental <<
Irving Washington - Gone Writing Posted Apr 1, 2000
Sorry about that... *shouts* can we get someone to repair the auto pilot on this modle? *back to normal voice* Alright, your Grateness, have a pleasant trip!
You may need to see someone at http://www.h2g2.com/forumframe.cgi?thread=44294&forum=35868 in order to rent a hangar for this ship

*Returns with the ship more or less intact, although singed and damaged in various locations. From behind the now inflated airbag, Dan walks out.* Just don't ask. That held up a lot better than I thought. If somebody would repair the damage, I'll take the ship. Just drop it off at Hangar #5.

Doctor John (Patron Saint and Village Physician) Posted Apr 2, 2000
I think probably the Black Hole Sun model, but may i test drive both to help me be absolutely sure?

Alien Posted Apr 2, 2000
Happy to see there are this many customers here... But when all the trading is done, I hope I'll be informed so I can update the files...
