Could it be the caffeine? I'll try an Espresso, please, and see if I start thinking about martial arts.

You're so right! Does that mean a nightcap of virtual hot white chocolate will make me dream of snuggling into warm snow? If so, set 'em up, please. smiley - smiley

*Dr J wanders in. Hears all the talk about martial arts. Goes and sits in a corner by himself, he's seen enough violence to last a lifetime*
Capuucino please, Irv and has anyone got a spare copy of The Sunday Times (London edition)? I've left mine at home.

Yeah, you can have mine – it's crumpled and has coffee stains, but you're welcome.

Technically, my style of karate started in Japan with Hironori Ohtsuka (10th Dan!), but HIS teacher was Funakoshi, hence my style also traces back to Okinawa. You're right about Sensei Redneck's indifference to kata. We brown belts all needed to do endless work on Kushanku, and would ask to practise it, but Sensei Redneck would say, "Naw, that's boring. Everybody get your fighting gear on."

Nai Hanchi? Ouch! In our style, Nai Hanchi takes place all from side to side, as if you're balanced on a beam. It's a killer for knee and ankle joints.

May I have some green tea, please, honey & earthenware cup, as per Cha-Do. smiley - smiley

It's time for hot chocolate. I'm watching a tribute to Joni Mitchell on the telly, and Richard Thompson is on. His version of "Woodstock" was just wonderful.
Hot chocolate, IIEM. In a heavy mug. with a marshmallow.

Anyone else having trouble with this forum? Yes, Lil, Nai Hanchi (I only knew it phonetically, as I never saw it written). I kind of liked the side to side thing. He taught us something very similar with a bo.

*Gets to work serving back orders*

I think It's time for a newer forum: http://www.h2g2.com/forumframe.cgi?forum=26140&thread=47823
