Things got confusing last night, what with the Oscars and all, so here's a new forum! Coffee anyone?

Glad you got in on the ground floor for this one, Marv! I'm afraid I'm turning in for the evening (class tomorrow) but it's good to know that the bar is in your hands

If it is, there's not a lot to celebrate. American Beauty won everything. See:

Michael Caine got Best Supporting Actor. Angeline Jolie, and Hilary Swank won for Actresses. Hardly everything. That's three of the big six they didn't get.

Okay, so maybe not literally "everything", but it still wasn't a balanced award ceremony. That's why I've never really liked the Oscars as one film always sweeps the boards and the others miss out. The BAFTAs are a much better ceremony - they at least give the awards to the right people.

Gmornin yall! We had a great time last night. Is it still autopilot here or is someone running the counter? I would love a cup of tea, and I'll have me one a them doughnuts, as my trailer park neighbours would say...
Did you notice how Haley Osment had an absolutely _wonderful_ time just being there?

I've added the two Oscar Party threads to the film society page so other film buffs can relive the evening/morning/that time in the evening just before dusk.

It's a shame you couldn't last all the way through, DD.
I was thinking how much fun it would be to watch bad movies here as they come up on regular listings, but that would be impossible for the non-Yanks But I know the Ozzies and Kiwis get the Discovery Channel: is it available by satellite in the UK?

If it had of been the Superbowl that would have been different. But I'd had a haard week, I will whowever read all the backlog later at my leisure.

Here in AZ it's sunny and warm... but then, isn't it always? My friends who came to the UofA from other states claim that Arizona has no seasons... I beg to differ...

I believe Ireland has a lot of pepper, which is a very unused season.
