Ah. Said book involves such a mythical bird, and a young boy. I used to love it, but the copy my father read to me has a large chunk missing now, and I think it's out of print

Yes, I like the plumage. You can tell he's a male bird because the male of the a bird species is always prettier than a female

~GRRRRRRrrrrrrin...~... That is certainly true about most species Mr Washington... except of course the pussy... which is far better female than male any day of the week... ~grin~... who would want to be an old TOM CAT... when the female of the species is called a QUEEN... ~Greebo brushes out the fur around her neck...~ Me so cute sometimes... that it almost impossible to live with me...

*pictures Garfield mailing Nermal to Abu Dahbi* Cuteness can be a curse But I would say that most female persons are prettier than the males.

*Emerges from the stream after washing off a hairball. Remembers his old trick and enters the stream again in wolf form. Exits, dripping, and walks directly under Greebo. Shakes vigourously, drenching Greebo. Changes back to human form, looks up innocently.*
Oh, sorry Greebo. Didn't see you there. Want to borrow my towel?
*Profers towel as peace offering*

~Greebo looks disdainfully down at Gari... then reaches into her Garfield backpack and produces her Acme Handy Dandy Furdryer... soon she is dry as a very dry thing...~
Me knows it was an accident... ~Greebo smiles sweetly~ Oh and sorry about that little accident upon your head... ~grin~... me had fried onions earlier... and they never do agree with me... ~bigger grin~... Now off you go and wash like a good little puppy...

*Laughs*
So that is what I was washing out. I should have guessed from the smell. Here, Greebo. Another peace offering.
*Throws a doughnut to Greebo*

*Wakes up*
Hey, where are we!
*Looks around*
Man, I had a weird dream. I was back in Zork, and Erik Evari was dressed up in some . . . military uniform. He kept saying that he was the boss of me. And then he yells out "Wartle!" and Rip Taylor walks out, makes a hand signal, and that guy from the Tombstone Pizza commercial comes out, holds me at swordpoint, says that I have no rights, and throws me in a Totemizer! I woke up then!
I'm just glad it's over.

*Starts building a small campfire in the clearing. Soon it is blazing cheerfully. Collects chesnuts (not golden ones) from under a nearby tree and begins roasting them.*
Chesnuts, anyone?
Spring is in the Air -- C'mon Outside!
Irving Washington - Gone Writing Posted Mar 30, 2000
Isn't it a bit out of season to have chesnuts roasting on an open fire?
