I'm just saying that we, if we were Douglas Adams, or perhaps impersonating him, could be about as tall as he is if you stood on my shoulders.
Ummm, he's not, like, eleven feet tall, is he? 'Cause we'd end up somewhere in that neighborhood. You'd have to watch yourself going through doors.

I dunno—he might be. Ask Peta...

I don't actually know him to be over 7', I *do* know his honker is HUGE (he admits it himself), but I've also seen a statement that it wouldn't be really out of proportion to his total body-size. That certainly implies a giant of a man

Yeah, but there's a big difference between 7 and 11 feet. It's about, uh, 4 feet, er. Ummmmmm, soooo...yeah, he's a tall guy, yeah? And the world record is just under 9 feet, so it seems safe to say he's somewhere under that.
I'd say I don't have a big "honker", but it'd probably be misconstrued.

I will high tail it over there instantly! I tried the programme about 4 months ago but, unforunately,I could not load it at that time as my feeble computer would not allow me the correct screen res Lets hope that I have better luck this time!

Well, if your hard- and software didn't change over the last four months, chances are it still won't work, but then again, it just might! We'd be happy to welcome you in our team, shazz

Oh, I don't know...
Kate Posted Nov 10, 1999
Cliques...competition...insignificance...insecurity...I'll tell you what, kiddos, I'm tired. I think I'm going to go have a nice lie down.
Oh, I don't know...
what you know as km Posted Nov 10, 1999
Yes. Yes, it's all very silly, isn't it?
Erm, except for the competition. I adore competition.
Can't we compete just a little while longer, Kate?
It doesn't have to be anything important.
A sack race?
Something?
Oh, I don't know...
The Mummy, administrator of the SETI@home Project (A193231) and The Reluctant Dead on the FFFF (A254314) Posted Nov 11, 1999
Hmmm, I believe that you can compete your heart out, KM... the highest ranked member of the H2G2-team can make saucages out of the whole Floor42-team
And to think that there's 30 of us, against 11 of you. Not a fair competition in my not all that very humble opinion, after all
Oh, I don't know...
what you know as km Posted Nov 11, 1999
Oh, now wait a minute. You lot ought to have a more distinctive name, don't you think? I mean, I know it wouldn't do me any good for you to have one, and therefore I should keep my mouth shut. But I'm not going to. The fact, as it would appear to us currently, is that we are all Researchers, and that we all have, in fact, been Researchers for roughly the same period of time, which would be, erm... I don't know, what is seven months in Guide years?
Anyway it seems to me that "the H2G2 team" is a bit of a vague name, seeing as it doesn't so much distinguish you lot from us lot or any other lot at all.
This, however, is not the point. This is just me rabbitting.
The point is in fact that there are not eleven of us but rather 184 of us at present tally, this including some rather quiet members and... oh, let's go with the high end and call it ten... about ten alteregos (shhhh). Oh, and that's also counting Jimi X, who appears to quite prefer being counted with you lot, the H2G2 Team, if in fact you really do favor that name—none of my business, after all.
So never you mind calling us 11, eh.
*looks round for a suitable sack*
If we're going to have a competition, let's have a competition then. You're all talk, I bet. We'll just see then won't we?
Oh, I don't know...
Spartus Posted Nov 11, 1999
KM, dear, sweetie, honey, calm down just a little bit here. We'll have a sack race or something, as you suggested. Remember, it doesn't matter who finds the green bug-eyed things first, just that we can win the sack race that eventually will result.
Oh, I don't know...
The Mummy, administrator of the SETI@home Project (A193231) and The Reluctant Dead on the FFFF (A254314) Posted Nov 11, 1999
Oh, just keep on rabbitting about, please!
The team registered as "H2G2 Researchers" with SETI@home, can and will be the only *official* team of H2G2 Researchers, as far as SETI@home is concerned. Of course there are a lot more researchers, but they didn't join that group, and thus are not considered *official*
Anyway... Ant and you started the talk about a competition, to which I immediately opposed, stating that it would be better to team up!
But if YOU wish to have your competition, then I'd say "Go right ahead, and you're welcome" I'm not fearing the Floor 42 team

Researcher 42? He's probably already a member of some Mac group though.
