SETI h2g2 Researchers: update
bludragon, aka the Dragon Queen of Damogran Posted Oct 28, 1999
Hi festi!
You are doing a great job with SETI. I especially like your 'sleuthing' to find the 'real' names of the SETI members of h2g2...
I just popped in here to check and thought I would repeat the link to your page and the actual SETI page for h2g2 researchers.
Figgered between your link and the SETI one newcomers could find whatever else they needed/were interested in.

Hi Blu,
Oh IC. Well, anyway, all the link to SETI that anyone would need are on both my pages about the SETI project, just so we don't have to repeat that lengthy dreaded link to SETI itself, like you've been doing. Chances of doing that one right are quite slim (I applaud you for doing that one right every time)
Adn about the sleuthing: the ones that are not solved within a few minutes, are immediately considered Aliens
People must have a non-ambiguous name here, that is also used with SETI, or they must have a link that eventually brings me to their page here, or I must be able to find their email-address for the H2G2 search-engine to chew on. If none of these requirements are met, they're Aliens to me
The current Aliens are: Ginger, notomat and Lorenz Hahn

Ginger is one of the Sub-editors - so she is easy to find. I am 99% sure it is her.
I have been pestering everyone here at TDV to join - so far I have recruited Anna - but others have said they will join..

Aha, thanx for the info on Ginger, the point just was, that the H2G2 search engine comes up with 8 names that contain Ginger, and none of their introductory pages mention anything about SETI, so I just didn't dare making the mistake of adding the wrong link.
Now I'll run the search again, and see if anyone fits the description of sub-editor.
I've found Anna to have joined indeed, and I immediately was sure you had something to do with her being on the team I'll try to keep up with the changes as they present themselves

SETI group for h2g2

Oh, I don't know... that intelligent life on earth thingy is pretty good... it could work... we'd just start by weeding out all of those that aren't included in the group of "intelligent life"... such as, or so I've heard, 93.873 percent of Australians...

I think you were mislead, Sporky, my friend. Actually it's 93.873% of all "supposedly intelligent" life on Earth that's being dismissed.
Most of these are in fact humans.
The remaining 6.127% are as yet uncertainties. They *seem* rather intelligent, but that may be a smoke screen.

Personally, I wouldn't mind if *he* never frequents this place again... as much as I'd love to see him participate, I'd much rather see that movie being made!

Well, I'd love to say that I'm impartial to his behaviour as far as visiting h2g2 is concerned, but I can't!
I'd be happy to thank him in person for giving me so many laughs.
That movie will happen eventually, anyway!

hey, guys,
I didnt mean in the Guide, I meant joining the SETI team...
Although, even DNA probably needs some R&R time, and what better place than the Guide.
He could disguise himself...hmmmmmmmm

sure, It's possible... but it's not nice to remember us of that possibility. You take away what hope we had left. And only when there's hope, there's life... So in a sense, you killed us ;-(
