Jonesy breathed her last.....
Fizzymouse- no place like home Started conversation May 6, 2009
This evening we buried our little cat.
Jonesy had been with us for almost 17 years. She was the runt of the litter and a very sickly little kitten. The vet told me she wouldn't last the month but she proved him wrong and went on to scratch and bite him quite a few times over the years.
Jonesy gave us plenty to laugh about over her lifetime from the day she got stuck behind a kitchen cupboard to the night she caught a bat and brought it home. She was a little demon and managed to get herself into a few scrapes along the way. She fell into the bath a few times ..... she never did learn not to lunge at toes peeping out of the water. She even lost the tip of her tail when Sazzle was very small and slammed a door on it (accidently).
She was a very good natured cat, the only time she really ever showed her claws was when I'd try to make her take a tablet - and I sussed out the perfect solution to that one ..... eventually.
She died peacefully at home and we buried her in the forest just outside our house - she's just about 10ft from our trampoline (over the wall of course) at the edge of a clearing carpeted with bluebells.
I know in the overall picture of things our little cat didn't amount to much and she did spend a lot of time with our next door neighbour in recent years, but she was our wee treasure and we'll miss her.
PS .. and I'll miss her snoring.

Sorry to hear that, Fizzy. Never had a cat myself, but everyone I know who has them accepts them as one of the family (or rather, the cat accepts *them*) - so s to all. I hope Sazzle is ok...

Such sad stories, yet pets bring us such joy and comfort. I hope eventually you will have just the good memories left and the gap left isn't too painful
(a three-legged neighbourhood visits us, usually when I am feeling low, I am sure it "tunes in" )

The pain is that there will be no new memories, but how much duller would your life have been if there'd been none ?
The little beggars get to you don't they.
