the radio series and the book differ quite a lot but the biginning is rather similar in both. i started with the book, then tertiary radio, then primary and secondary radio, then a bit of the tv series but not much, quandary radio, movie, quintessential radio.
i read the books ages ago so at the moment i think the radio series is the best. they were the original and i love the way everything clears up at the end. i think the books are good too because there's so much detail in them.

UnfadingAscendant - Above the ashes Posted Oct 8, 2005
I got a DVD boxset of the BBC TV series for my birthday back in April. I've never came across any of the radio programs though, i feel like I'm missing out

They're available as one big, lovely packed (so I hope) bumper edition boxset on CD from sometime this month. Thats somewhere in the region of 12 and a half hours of airplay plus a bonus CD or two with two extra programmes; sadly not Douglas' Guide to the Guide. RRP is £80 but Play.com is offering it for £40 and I will surely get it, even though I know a website you can stream/download all the episodes from. Its lovely to have the real thing don't ya think

my tertiary phase is recorded directly from radio but all the others i got from my uncle who copied the cds that he had for me.
i got the film the other day and it came with a free mug that had marvin on it. although i didn't realise i was entitled to a free mug until i'd got back to school so i had togo back tothe shop 2 days later to claim it. silly me

My gf bought it for me the last night we spent together before we broke up to go university, she really disliked my obsession with it so buying it and sitting watching it with me was touching. No mug though, cuh women.

Alex Ferrous: *Walks up and says hi to all.*
*walks back out "for a breather*
*comes back into the room in his Grey Swordsman costume/suit*
then adds, "Are you the one-they call Professor Chaos? Say, do you like bashing stuff in?"
*Shows deswtructive potential by quickly curling into a ball while sprouting spikes and then going back again.*
"If you think that part's handy, check these out."

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
