I read a post that stated in trek law, Scotty is still. In the episode relics ,when he finds out he has been rescued by the enterprise ,he makes a comment about Kirk and the Enterprise. Which makes generations plot flawed .

The line "beam me up scotty".Whas never uttered

Star trek TOS had some great episodes, such as The Enterprise incident .Its a shame that after Gene Roddenberry's death TNG storylines also started to die,the pulse only sustained by episodes like relics & Emissary Pts 1 & 2.
To look back on the first 6 movies, that was Star trek, what came after was a pale imitation,a bad copy of a great idea .

Please don't agrue!!

It's truew that TNG was different after Gene Roddenberry's death, but it's not worth fighting over.

Im not looking for an arguement, honest its just there are to many flaws in TNG . Its almost as if the time line that star trek exists in is being re-written to say Captain Kirk never was .

The same point can be made about the borg, who encountered the borg first LW believes that "The bald one" Captain Picard was first ,that is wrong and aint worth a gnats , Captain Kirk encounterd the borg way before Captain slap .

I just wish they would Captain Kirk would return, this is fantasy and in fantasy anything is possible .smiley - biggrin

You left me a message while I was away about this, and when I got back I had absolutely no idea why you left it for me. smiley - erm

I can't believe that I'm being dragged into this, but your argument about Kirk meeting the Borg before Picard is based purely on supposition. Until it is openly stated in one of the live action series or movies that this is the case then I will not believe it. Anyway, Archer was the first captain to encounter the Borg, he just didn't realise it at the time.

That brings us onto the subject of Enterprise. I could understand it if you said that Enterprise was rewriting Star Trek history to write Kirk out of it, but to say so about TNG is just silliness. The writers on TNG had the greatest respect for Gene Roddenberry and the original Star Trek, and I thought that that came across well in the show. It was the writers on Enterprise that prided themselves on not having watched TOS.

Think there are inconsistencies throughout all the 5 series though.

Haven't seen the Archer/Borg episode yet, but I've read that the Borg they encounter were left from the First Contact story. And I've heard it said in a few plasces that V'ger from the first film was the start of the Borg, but that doesn't tie up with Guinan's info, or the First Contact stuff again.
