No... but I've heard that there are nuts in the brownies over there....

Oh no I've got to leave the party and walk my dog in the dark dark windswept ghouly ridden night. Will I survive? Should I wear my scary dentist's outfit to keep the ghosts away? Or will the symbol of pain attract them?
Oh well I can come back to the party for a brownie later Maybe I'll be transformed into SOMETHING horrible though - so watch out...

Well, we must be getting towards the end of the party now.
In my experience, that means that the following things will be happening somewhere in the place:
1) People will have disappeared in pairs and strange noises will be coming from one of the upstairs rooms.
2) A small group of people will be gathered protectively around the last of the drink supply.
3) The aforementioned drink supply will consist of all the fairly disgusting stuff that no-one wanted to drink earlier, e.g. warm, sweet wine, advocaat, Pernod, Dubonnet.
4) Someone will be sitting on the stairs sobbing and going on about how they want to die because someone else doesn't love them.
Any sign of any of that?

Not yet, but the brownie supply is running low. That could bring on a crisis in short order when people start going through withdrawl!

NO NO this party can't STILL be going... isn't it bonfire night, nearly Christmas ...or Something? I can't keep up with constant parties and still go to work. I'm getting older you know!

Been away and missed all the fun. Again. Hey, parties don't change, do they? The four end-of-party things mentioned were going on when I was a callow party-going youth 25 years ago. Good to know.
What's all this stuff with the smileys? Everyone must have been on more than virtual booze because they all looked the same om MY computer. Are they supposed to be different, or have I got Stone-Age-browser-syndrome again?

Hi SPINY,
Don't worry about your browser. What happened was that in the run-up to Halloween, all the smileys were magically replaced by little cartoon pumpkins and ghosts, while the fish became fishbones. Once Halloween had passed, they were restored to their usual form.
Sadly, it sounds like you missed that - but the special smileys were so popular that I'm sure the h2g2 crew will come up with something similar for Christmas.

Thanks O, I'd have hated to think I was one of those urchins pressing their nose against the window but never asked to come in. There's gettin' to be too much on here - maybe TPTWVH could be persuaded to have some sort of activity monitor that could show where all the posts made within the last ten minutes are. Admittedly being on holiday for two weeks didn't help though.
Key: Complain about this post
