How did you find H2G2?
Pheroneous Posted Oct 23, 2000
Gandalf, there is a clinic offering full counselling, recuperation and advice etc. I found it once, but ran away before they could get the jacket on. Try addiction + clinic in search.

Gandalf
I think you can have the jacket in whatever fabric you want
Just so long as it has the long sleeves straps and buttons up at the back
The clinic is at http://www.h2g2.com/A206894 but it doesn't seem to be very busy at the minute.
As for how I got here
Like a lot of others I first heard of the site when it was launched on Tommorrows World, but I didn't sign up until a few months later.

I found out about it also through its opening live on Tomorrows World. I didn't join up though as I was busy ploughing though my A Levels at the time, but my little brother joined (who was previously known as Researcher Kevin (not his real name) but known more recently as The Phantom Goldfish).
I joined up properly once I had properly settled in at Uni(coincidently, it was exactly one year ago today (Oct 23, 2000)), and I've been here ever since. Now look at me. I've got myself roped into scouting guide entries and selling doughnuts. I can't leave now!

I´ve only read the three first. They say it´s a trilogy in five parts, what are the last two parts? Is it Starship Titanic and Mostly Harmless? And are they independent or do they follow the first three?

Well, there I was, an account manager for an IT training company trying to sell my wares to the retail trade, when on a trawl through Retail Week (nerdy retail trade mag) came up against a biog of the CEO of E-Kingfisher who quoted this as his favourite website. Popped in on the hope of bumping into him, realised it would be impossible to ever find that out (go on, you *know* you want to tell me who you are... as of Monday I'll be in a different job!) and stayed.
Was quite scared to start off with (these communities have always seemed a bit like everyone else knows things that I don't) and found the loveliest, most intelligent, witty, offbeat, supportive little community *ever*.
I am now scared in reverse, as I am about to start a new job where not only will I be very busy, but anyone who walks into the office can see my screen...I think I will be able to post for 10 mins in the morning and 10 in the afternoon...Terrifying...!
Thanks all for a fund few weeks, I'll post when I can!

I was looking for info. on New York on either the Lonely Planet or Rough Guide site, and there was a link to an entry here. It was quite amusing so I carried on looking around... and have never got back to finding out about New York!
