Here is a thread for interesting mentions of h2g2 and the people in it, as I don't think there is another one around...
Our Robbie is on the radio today http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b07pj826 "Robbie Stamp has an imagined conversation with his late business partner and friend, Douglas Adams."

Thanks Sasha
I do collect historic references to h2g2 and the edited guide here: A46972182 but it needs an update, and this thread will be good for current alerts.

I saw this linked to on facebook earlier. I love that puddle analogy, which I've somehow never come across.

I try to spread the word among my friends, but it's an uphill battle.

I had cause to look up 'gin and tonic' on wiki this morning. There was an article about it in our paper which stated that it had been invented by a Dutch doctor in the 17th century - Francois de Boe.
Wiki says that this is a myth. However, in the 'references' section, the first mention is the full quote from the Guide all about gynnantonnix etc. Can't post a link for the minute but it's easy enough to find.

Alas, poor Pangalactic. I knew him. He died of a shortage of galactic acid

On Bookclub on the World Service this week, they are repeating a discussion with Douglas Adams about the Hitchhiker's Guide.

You should be able to listen again on the iplayer wherever you are, or download the podcast. I am currently doing the latter, although I may have recording of the original broadcast somewhere.
It will be lovely to hear his voice again.

They regularly air other DNA documentaries on Radio 4 Extra too. There was a good series about the future, I remember - very prescient.
