Although not a fictional character, Wittgenstein made a pretty good observation about e futility of trying to anticipate what death will be like: "Death is not an event in life: we do not live to experience death."

Not at all. At some point a real person *wrote* everything the fictional one said, after all. Ergo, every quote is from a real person.
