The Queen's Tweet

Her Majesty the Queen sent her first tweet today, promoting an exhibition she opened at the Science Museum in London. It read:
"It is a pleasure to open the Information Age exhibition today at the @ScienceMuseum and I hope people will enjoy visiting. Elizabeth R."

I think it's wonderful that she has not compromised on her use of English in this new medium.
But how could she have abbreviated it for hardened Twitter fans? Your suggestions welcome

I'm glad that the Queen's first tweet was about something happy.

A grand prize for whoever comes up with the actual HTG
(honest to god) text of her first email back in 1976.
It is on display at the new Science Museum.
And the wiener is....

She's been e-mailing on the internet since 1976:

They don't say who she sent that e-mail to in 1976.

That's a real problem when you're the pioneer of a new communications medium.
It probably bounced.

To 'everyone' I think.
At least to everyone on the 'net' as it then were.
So, in a way it's probably the very first instance of spam.
But it was more like the old "I declare this bridge open" or
the "Bless this ship and all who sail in her" kinda thing that
Royals are often called upon to do. She didn't actually write it;
she just pushed the send button (which then of course was just
a hard return).
Like throwing the switch on a new generator.
Or setting off fireworks.
More ceremonial than anything.
But as always she did it with a pleased excitement
and genuine interest.
