The people who signed this petition want him deported for "attacking the Second Amendment". Does that mean that they should be deported for attacking the First?

What would these petitioners have done if Piers Morgan had been born in the U.S.? You can't deport someone to another country if he didn't come from another country. He should be allowed the same right to free speech that his detractors are allowed.

The National Rifle Association said that the only way to stop a bad man with a gun is with a good guy with a gun. The same organization recommended that armed policemen be stationed at every school in the U.S. This at a time when many schools can't afford to hire enough teachers.

Yeah, but to be fair Morgan is an utter C U next Tuesday.

Not that I care all that much about his fate. I had never heard of him before I discovered this thread. With his views about gun control, he might be able to find an anchor job in a more friendly market. Just don't ask me where that would be, though some place in new England might do.

As for next Tuesday, do you mean New Year's Day? Does his grene card expire then?

Morgan's got a bit of history you may not be aware of, Paul. When he was editor of the UK newspaper The Mirror, he published crude fake photos purporting to show Iraqi prisoners of war being abused by British soldiers. He was forced to quit over this, and became a bit of a hate figure.

I'm not sure how he's done it, but he's managed to claw his way back into good public opinion through his smooth-talking appearances on talent show judging panels and chat shows. Still, his past will forever haunt him in my opinion. He's also never flatly denied that he was involved in phone hacking. Maybe the truth will out one day.

C U Next Tuesday is a thinly veiled version of what is, in blightly at least, the worst swear word around.
