Anyone watching True Blood? (warning: possible spoilers)
HonestIago Posted Jun 26, 2013
That one engaged me a lot more: it looks like the Northman family and Billith/Jessica will be coming at the same enemies from different directions, that could be interesting. Loved Eric's different attempts and especially his disguise and, as ever, I loved Pam. I'm smitten
More fairies - just don't care. Same goes for the werewolves but at least Sookie's supernova looked quite cool. I enjoyed the Warlow fake-out from the last episode.
Bilith killing that woman was gruesome even by the standards of True Blood/HBO. Not sure even Game of Thrones provided anything that unpleasant this year, which is quite a feat. Jess' prayer to Bilith was such a great scene, really powerful and the good kind of setty-uppy.

I was a bit behind and I have just caught up with the last two.
That was a properly shocking ending there from Jess, I wonder if she has actually killed them?

I've just caught up with the last two too (FB, stop pre-emptively copying me). Ep 3 didn't thrill me although the stuff with Ginger was *hilarious* - poor Ginger - but Ep 4 was a doozy. Brilliant cliffhangers all over the place and more Jason homoeroticism (seriously though, they have to stop teasing us and give us some actual Jason/male vampire action).
As always, werewolves: who cares? The fairy daughters plot is surprisingly good though. I'm coming up with a theory that when the other supers are involved in the main (i.e. Sookie or Eric) plot, it's interesting but at all other times they're dull. Only exception so far has been Lafayette and his magic.

I can see why for you some Jase Bro on Bro action would be good.
But I for one cannot help waiting for the comic potential of Jason steaming into Andy's girls and Andy's reaction. Would be gold. comedy gold!
Many of the most laugh out loud moments for me have been Jason/Andy moments.

This is HBO: there's no reason we can't both be happy.

Amen to that!
I thought Hauer's characters "Well he is a handsome boy" line to Jason was very funny!

Despite having been thoroughly, thoroughly bored by pretty much all of Terry's storylines I was both a little shocked and sad to see him die. I actually liked his character just his storylines that sucked.
I have to say I am really enjoying this series of True Blood. Much, much better than the last one I think. I had thought it would suffer coming between Thrones and Breaking Bad, but I think the fact that it is so tonally different really helps.
On the topic of Breaking bad, I have started an "Anyone Watching" thread for anyone who is interested:-

I was sad and shocked too: Terry, whilst boring, is fundamentally decent. Unlike Alcide who is boring and just a er to boot. Lala's reaction to Terry was really quite touching and I do hope Arlene stays around as she's a hoot.
Bilith was pretty dull as ever, but mercifully brief. Loved all the stuff with Eric and his coven, as well and Jason was brilliant telling his stories and then calling the anti-vampire folk racists.
I'm enjoying the series too, but then I always do enjoy True Blood. It's enjoyably stupid and a great dessert to the fantastic meal that is GoT.

Well they sent Terry out in a big way, didn't they? I'd say, Sookie's telepathy aside, they've never done such normal drama. I didn't expect the funeral to go on for so long and yet I really enjoyed it: it was quite nice to see some of the background characters like Hoyt's mum and Tara's evil mum pop up, I liked the flashbacks to young Terry and Lafayette was just fabulous.
Part of the reason the funeral worked so well was because it was interspersed with Eric's attack on the government facility. A word of advice: don't eat before watching this episode because HBO, a channel known for blood and gore, really outdid themselves with that raid. Yet again I find myself in shock that I like Jason, I used to hate him with a heat I now reserve for Alcide. However there has been far too little Jessica this season: they need to fix that next year.
Finally, I've been holding off saying this but now he's moving into the good guy camp, Warlow is ing hot. I'm kind of wanting Sookie to end up with him instead of Eric.
Am I basically talking to myself at this point?

Oh and I forgot to mention: Ginger. God I love her, she's comedy gold.

I have really enjoyed this season for the most part, the only bit I haven't liked is the sam/shifters/alcide story, it hasn't really been very relevant or believable

I also thought the funeral was really good. The whole episode worked brilliantly the way they interwove the two stories.
I really hope that wasn't Eric bowing out of True Blood mind. The show would be about 10,000% less interesting without him.

I think he'll heed Nora's last words and look after Pam, Tara and Willa. I think he's gone to get Sarah Newlin.
