Gnomon - time to move on Posted Dec 31, 2011
That doesn't look any sort of a kerfuffle, never mind a fluffy one.

Mine is too complicated.
And it's confusing if you know or read the smiley names
and don't just take the images ar face value, IE: a canine,
a bird and an elephant, the three spirit animals I believe
I have been in various incarnations.
Gnomon's is ideal!
Not just because of the auditory pun of 'Gnomon is an island'
but because of the visual pun of the palm tree as the gnomon
on the sundial that is a sandy desert island.

I try to vary my signature. The standard one is the simple or (more often these days), . I like , and think it's underused. I sometimes use when I've been explaining something complicated or clarifying something on which I've earlier been misunderstood (or simply when I feel like it). I often use when I'm saying something geeky. And of course there are a plethora of celebratory smileys I use when the occasion warrants. I often pile them up.
If I'm (a) in a hurry, or (b) talking about something very serious, I may not use a smiley at all.
It's fun having new ones to work with, and I'm trying to add them to my repertoire.

Well, this account uses partly because the smiley was launched and the account was opened on the same day, but mainly because it's the perfect smiley for the account which is all about keeping things running smoothly. I don't have one when I am logged in as me though.

I put in my name (with a link to my space so people can find out more about me) at the top of my posts. After I've posted something, I come back every few minutes to update how long ago I posted it.

I've used since Jan 2007. If I'm being mega formal in a post I use BMT and no smiley but thats rare these days. Its not normally a good sign if I use BMT, usually means I'm, well, lets just say, not pleased.
In days gone by when a Scout and doing Scout things I'd sign off BMT Scout but in general always use

But surely there aren't enough smilies for everyone to have a unique signature?
So it might be misleading to rely on that alone. Although it might help when people start changing names/using anagrams!

I would use for what my name implies, but the name really refers to my (lack of) use of a lense zoom. So I'll patiently wait for a smiley.

That's very clever! I'm too lazy to type all that on a regular basis, though.
