If you could genetically engineer any pet what would you like?

Little Lost Mammoth

I of course would like a mammoth. A real one would be too big, so I want a small one, about the size of a cat.

I would house train it and let him stomp around downstairs and eat stuff in the garden.

I briefly pondered a modified smiley - cat that might actually listen to the wants of its carer. But as that is so contrary to nature,
it might cause all of reality (what-ever that might be) to become even more seriously warped.

Either...

A teeny weeny ickle horse the size of a hampster.

Or...

A feck off massive big hampster the size of a horse.

An octopussy: a creature with 8 legs and 9 lives would be wondrous indeed.

*Is this thread a test of the surreal theory that some or even all threads co-exist in an osmotic ether of sameness? Is this thread in cosmic-league with another? Hmm.. http://h2g2.com/dna/h2g2/alabaster/F19585?thread=8286410&skip=0&show=20 ~jwf~

A house trainable orang-utang. And a cold weather resistant banana plant, otherwise it'll get expensive.

Because we don't have shoggoths or giant hampsters.

And because I do love the beauty of horses, but have nowhere to 'house' a full-sized one. A lovely little thing of perhaps one-hand height would do well enough in our home though. Lots of room to run about and play with the smiley - catsmiley - cat

Oh but ours is a tidy bungalow, with lots of open floor and a nice long hallway for such a little smiley - pony critter to get a good
