After a pretty much dreadful and horrible day I just opened the new yoghurt tub I bought earlier to try...Vanilla and Mango.
And it's totally out of this world like I can't believe.
I got to this point in my life and finally discovered the heaven of that combination.

mmmm - that sound's really delicious.
I think I quite like coriander and lime, which is perhaps not recent, but recentish.
But now you've reminded me of icecream, I am going to have to go and check out my freezer

Take one (or more) oatmeal raisin cookies
turn over to the flat side
spread thickly with peanut butter
cover with a thin spread of creamery butter.
Wash down with cold milk.
Enjoy,

In Brick Lane, near here, which is mostly Bangladeshi shops, cafes and restaurants..they are full of the most wonderful sweets of all kinds which are cardamon flavoured.
I'll never forget the evening when someone turned up late in Sussex countryside, where I lived at that time, with a load of various cardamon based 'sweets' and fresh cream.
It was the first time of trying them..a bit (understatement) more pleasurable than the first time I had sex

With the autumn glut of cooking apples, I found a recipe for scallops with baked apples, black pudding and spinach cooked with lemon rind and coriander. Because we can't get posh seafood in this part of the country, I substituted some king prawns for the scallops. I expected it to be awful, but it was surprisingly tasty. So, prawns and apple.

brie and pear on a sandwich is great stuff (not recent though)
not suce if it counts as a flavour combination or such but I'm a recent convert (thanks to Heston Blumenthal) to star anise in bolognese (or any other tomato based sauce, come to think of it)

It's not a recent discovery by any stretch, but when I came across it at university chips & cheese was an absolute revelation. It must be grated cheese, so that it can be liberally sprinkled across the chips, and eventually melt into a cardiac inducing stringy mess.
Beautiful.

Geggs, if you use a white curd cheese on fresh and hot chips, then smother with a rich and beefy gravy, you have poutine. Stringy and messy but oooooh so tasty!

We've got a Guide Entry on that I think.
Indeed we do (thanks to the now-working search function) - A3802916.
Surely anything I create would be a pale imitation to that produced in the land of the maple leaf?

If the chips are hot, the cheese of a sort you like (even a tangy old cheddar) and the gravy full of real flavours, ... You really can't go wrong. With or without the maple leaf ...

Had some more of that mango and vanilla yoghurt for breakfast..
But I'm going to buy some vanilla pods and various fruits..and add them to a creamy Greek plain yoghurt..and finally start using that food proccesor thing I bought a few months ago, and experimenting.
I reckon homemade fresh stuff will be orgasmic..
I want to generally get more into exploring flavour combinations this winter.

One of my favourite flavour combinations isn't really a combination at all. It's monstera fruit, which tastes like a mixture of banana and pineapple.
Many years ago, visiting a Jamaican friend, I caught him in the kitchen cooking chopped fresh coconut, grated ginger and brown sugar (I'm not sure if chunks of pineapple were also in the recipe) - it was a treat, just about making up for the fact that he couldn't supply the 'ingredient' I'd crossed town for that day...

Onion garlic and ginger has to be mine, it virtually seems to be the start of everything, or nearly everythign I make over the past few months... years...
Spices/recent has to be cardamon, cinnamon, fennurgreek (methi), corianda, cumin, mustard seed, chillies, ginger, onion and garlic, with lime juice as a mix for marinating lamb or chicken...
Mind, I have just spent the best part of an hour rearranging my spice cupboard
