why don't they double check their calculations now! 2 weeks before the big event!!!
that way when it does not happen they will be saved the egg on the face with the usual "misstake in the calculations due to the adjustment of the calenders"

Hapi - Hippo #5 Posted May 7, 2011
mm.. they'll have all the calculations wrong, got the wrong dates, and in the end all there will be is a small sign saying "we apologise for the inconvenience"
been there, done that, stopped taking it seriously

'stopped taking it seriously '
Do you mean at some point you *did* take this sort of thing seriously?

Just so there's no over-tarring with that brush there... Harold Camping has eyes rolled at him by evangelical Christians, too.

That was me. I will try again:
I heard a bit of a discussion of this thing on the radio (CBC) the other day. The president of some sort of U.S. Atheist club was on and to my mind he made a sad idiot of himself, coming off as a malicious, mean prig that no one would want to be in the same bar with. 'We're going to have big parties on the 25th (23rd, 24th -- he couldn't seem to get the date right) and laugh at all these idiotic, stupid Christians! Har! Har!' he said (I paraphrase).
