The hairs on my tummy...
Pheroneous II Started conversation Mar 27, 2010
I have noticed (sometimes there is little else to do on Planet P) that the decrease in hair population on my head is matched almost exactly by the increasing hair population on my tummy. Is there a connection?
Come to think of it, is there literally a connection? I mean is it the same hair? If I tug at one on my head will it disappear from my tummy and vice-versa?
Please try and explain.

Yes I also thought of the blutack. It is weird how once the hair disappears from the top of your head, it grows out of your nose and ears instead.

Dear Pheroneous,
Yours is a clear case of EFA: Exuberantis Furribus Abdominis. It´s a very rare manifestation of nature, it affects 1 person out of 10.000.
Some researches have been done and none has sorted out the relationship bald head/ hairy belly. They say it´s something people have to live with as it has not maligne consequences.
There´s something it may interest you. A group of archeologists found in an excavation a rock figure, it was bald and had a furry belly, very furry, you know these sort of figures usually have exagerated features. They took the figure to another group of anthropologists who thought it was a kind of fertile figure, because other features were also quite exaggerated.
Don´t know if you should comment that to your doctor.

I'm so glad I wasn't the only person to immediately think 'blutac' on reading this thread title on my PS
Its probably related to hormones. Or something.

I also don´t get how some men can be so hairy they have chest hair crawling up their neck, and yet turn completely bald.

there's a relation to the relative place on the evolutionary ladder .. lots of hair everywhere, long arms ...
some of are just a bit closer related to primates than others

Thanks for the warning about blu-tac.
Standing on your head! Brilliant. Should have thought of that. Answer in one!
Maria, there is nothing I would like more than to be a fertility figure, neanderthal or no, but sadly...
Noses and ears??? No. Awful. Let's move on please!
Chest remains bald, we are talking strictly tummies here!

Wasn't it Mu Beta that decided to stick blu tac in his belly button and couldn't get it out because of the hairs?
Vague memory...
In other news, my legs have got less hairy as I've got older. Hasn't affected any other part of my body, though.

I'm so glad that you told us that - I was thinking there was something obvious about bluetack that I had missed

Ah yes, blu-tack... what was that thread again?
I have that problem too, Pheroneous. It started in my 20s.
In my 30s it started filling out my shirt...

Didn't Mu also calculate the volume of his belly button using mustard seed or some such, and then post a photo of it?
