I'm stunned that it took more than 2 posts to say:

a) stop running

and

b) don't run on your hands



To answer the questions, no I haven't just started running - I've been at it for more than 20 years. But just recently - arm ache.

I don't think I'm doing anything different. Maybe more arm-warm-up before I start will be the answer.

I wonder whether Alex Tufty Ashman would know the answer.

Yes. It's because she's getting older.

My first thought was angina pectoris too, but as I am not a doctor, I really shouldn't say anything... I hope warmups help.

Since I'm here, I should probably have a go at answering the question.

There's only so many reasons for Sho's arms hurting. One would be a musculoskeletal problem of some sort, with the problem being due to movement of the arms during running. A cervical rib is another option, as it would reduce the blood supply to both arms. Trapped nerves in both arms seem less likely, unless you've got a neck problem. An important possibility would be referred pain from the heart due to the strain of exercise. My advice would be to see a doctor *just in case*.
