Scary moments from tv and films?

What scary moments do you remember from tv and films? I often find films scary until the monster appears then its a disappointment. Genuine scary moments I find few and far apart. One exception was Alien I, that film had me seating back in my cinema chair many times.

Several moments from the Sixth Sense always make my heart skip a beat, even though I'm expecting them. The vomiting girl is one, obviously (first time I saw that, I was in the middle of a row of 6 blokes who did a sort of involuntary Mexican Wave of fright); the other is the pair of legs that walk past the toilet.

The hallucination scene from The Shining still freaks me out as well.

As does the crocodile attack in Crocodile Dundee. I'm just a big girl's blouse, really.

Blackberry Cat , if one wishes to remain an individual in the midst of the teeming multitudes, one must make oneself grotesque

just about all of Angelheart, very atmospheric and scary but the only monsters are human

The moment Ed Norton realises he his Tyler Durden.

Scared me, and a plot twist I didn't see coming.

Make soap, you know it makes sense.......

I'm not really here

The bit at the end of Carrie where her hand comes out of the grave. Always scares the crap out of me.

Otherwise the whole of The Evil Dead (unless I'm nicely cushioned by alcohol).

Reefgirl (Brunel Baby)

The bit in Independance day where Dr Okum is thrown against the window of the lab by the alien he's operating on, and the bit in Fatal Attraction where Glen Close sits up in the bath after she's supposed to have drowned, I was still shaking when I came out of the cinema after that

The Childcatcher in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Dick Van Dykes accent in Mary Poppins.

Basically all of Seven. Though that was just icky and made me fell dirty. Never seen the film again and never want to again. Good film though.

Loads of Dr Who of course.
