'men are so crap at verbal communication. See?'
yes 2jesus, you put it perfectly. You haven't got a clue, have you?
Essentially, what 2legs is trying to say is that unless it has the words 'sex' 'beer' or 'food' in, or something he can relate to one of those major impulse groups, he'll assume it's not going to be any of the above and will be quite happy to carry on regardless, enjoying himself quite happily and innocently, until one of them comes up. it's nothing personal, that is just the way he's wired

you see, like, how clearly you just know exactly waht I ment, even when I didn't say what I ment; if someone says somethin gto me, then it can only mean what it is they're saying, but you ... other sex female people, you can like, I dunno, what is it, its like, you kind of I dunno, hear waht we say, and like you can well, sort of take from it soemthign that is in it, but not necessarily explicit in it, like, well I dunno, elp

Maybe not inferior, just more focused.
Women have lots of fibre optic cables floating everywhere from their brain. Men have one giant cable leading from the brain down
Maybe when we were cavepeople, and the men were out clubbing dinosaurs, all the women could do was sit around and daydream. Maybe thinking of ways the men could hunt better, so they could spend more time at home with the women watching Pangaeastenders.

Good point, 2legs.
Wasn't there a joke doing the rounds, a pair of his'n'hers diary entries?
Hers ran for a couple of paragraphs and included fears that they'd split up, a couple of rehearsed but unspoken arguments, some emotionally charged make-up sex and the conviction that she'd found the man of her dreams.
His was "Went out. Watched TV. Had a shag".

about right... of course this is* stereotyping a bit, some men are a bit more ... perceptive than others, and I guess the same must be true for those strange versions of our species, I guess some of them must be more or less perceptive/pick up 'hidden messages', other meanings in things...
Woman: "Fancy going for a beer",
Man, *thinks* beer, like beer, beer good, lets drink beer' " yeh, fine"
Woman *thinks* 'he's hot, and he wants to go on a date with me, I'm in' *thinks* "OK, pick you up at 8"
Man *thinks* 'Cool get a free lift and don't have to walk all the way to the pub' *thinks* "OK, see you then then"

I prefer to think of the cable starting at the other end and pointing up.

Yeah to be honest, I'm more a multi fibre optic type myself....but of course one little strand can get wider, bigger and more glowy when neccessary. No probs All part of the general light show I reckon.

New hair do... check.
It's amazing the confidence good hair gives you! The multi-person leaving do is on Saturday and at the moment, I'm not bricking it.
I got an invite out to another do! Been chatting to some people at work through the Avon stuff, chatting about my impending singledom and how I'm planning to get myself out as much as possible, and all of a sudden got an invite to an Ann Summers party!
The Avon is probably the biggest single thing that's got me back chatting to people. Well, that and the comments on here!
I'm making a point of asking people about themselves rather than worrying about what to say. Just the "how are you" "what are you up to at the weekend" stuff. Gradually you find out more about them, so next time you see them you can say "how's the kid/dog/garden getting on?".

Getting pedalling's the hardest bit, the more momentum you get up, the easier it is to balance and steer!

Well, I'd say that you were already more socially competent than me.

Thanks Horny, I just hope this momentum will keep me cool for Saturday evening. I know I won't drop out because I've asked most people if they're coming! Hopefully it'll be ok and I'll be able to get talking enough to people to stay out for the evening.
