If the world does end, I hope some watching alien civilisation comes along and erects a huge sign at the event horizon of the new black hole which says -
"I blame 2legs"
So do you think the world will end on the 10 th September
Secretly Not Here Any More Posted Sep 8, 2008
Well they're not shooting particles at each other until October, so I say no.
Whether or not it'll end then is a different story!

I can't die if the world did end...; I've still not utterly found evidence to support the idea that I'm alive or this 'world' is real in the first place' maybe elvis can help the aliens put the sign up

I'm going out for a really nice dinner tonight...just in case.
Wouldn't want my last dinner to have been beans on toast.

Shall I repeat the quote from the Physics professor at Manchester Uni last week on this topic?
One could always google Prof. Brian Cox and LHC...
or maybe click on this link http://www.astroengine.com/?p=1255
I posted it over on SEx and it got moderated
Suffice it to say, he appears to have little respect for anyone who think the LHC is going to destroy the world

Here's a handy website you can use to to check if the Large Hadron Collider has destroyed the world yet:

Like Arthur Dent with the crikkit ball, is he hoping and praying that there isn't an afterlife?
He's going to feel very silly meeting all those people...

a link I just recently found
http://www.lhcconcerns.com/LHCConcerns/Forums/phpBB3/index.php
which is either
a) going to make you really scared and worried
or
b) laugh a lot at people who don;t know what they are talking about trying to lecture the scientists on quantum mechanics. Heck, most of them seem unable to grasp basic probability.

Apparently an uncontrollable process might start tomorrow, but beginning from the sub-molecular level, it would take four years to build to earth-shattering status.
Which leads us to 2012, the date in the Mayan calendar which is predicted by them as the End of the World...

Mayans? Their world ended about 700 years ago.
