I wouldn't mind the slightest bit if the whole planet was run by the military, so long as no shots were fired in perpetuity. Wish the military had me first time I went bonkers (instead of lowlife, dirtbag shrinks (Kidding here: Military shrinks would have been preferable under certain conditions is all)). Anyway, them's my thoughts on a popular Egyptian military (and how useful multiplying the world's peacekeeping forces could be generally).

As a matter of fact, I had myself convinced for a while that she was my ex-gf's daughter, and she actually is from relatively close to Philly.

Get stuffed, this is just robbing the public purse by the back door.

No state funding for parties - they'll just weight the system so that the bulk of the money goes to the big 3 and the smaller parties and independents are starved (as is the situation at the moment with the rules surrounding tax relief on donations)

Donations should be capped at £10k. I'm sure a system could be arranged where individual union members could donate money directly to the party of their choice.

The politicians have to be brought to heel and forced to live within their means - they're quick enough to lecture everybody else on this point

Just to balance that post with an opposing viewpoint, I like Celine Dion well enough (and don't anybody take this thread off-topic by saying something about something she did or said (I couldn't give a damn about her, because I have no expectation it matters to me or the wider world)).

Yes, strange days. I wonder if any of this is going to 'work'. There are genuine concerns about rapid changes, so the authorities always act to try to be reasonable first until things seem totally out of hand to them. As regards my last, the thought crossed my mind Celine Dion could end up being the first female UN secretary general just because, so I'd better familiarize myself with how she thinks. Don't mind me. I remember reading that Avril Latrine had originally been signed as a country-pop artist, but this was hastily changed to take advantage of the pop-punk revival.

I'm proud to say that I have little idea who Justin Beiber is and wouldn't be able to recognise him by sight or any of his 'songs' if I heard them...
