none
but...
i had an opportunity once...
my hasbeen was voluntarily underemployed, didn't help out much financially with our three little kids, and also wasn't involved with them much...
one weekend he was taking my daughter over to visit his wife's family a few hours away and drove up in a nice big suburban borrowed from a member of that family... this was fine with me but...
but but BUT...
i had been trying to get him to discuss helping out financially for a week and he was continuously weasling out of talking about it...
soooooooooooo......
when he arrived i went out to the suburban to try and get him to talk about support, but of course he wouldnt and so when he wasnt looking i snagged the ignition keys and told him i wouldnt give them back till we talked... he wouldnt so i into the house, stashed them under a comfy chair cushion and sat! on it!
so he comes in and asks where they are and i say only after we talk about the support so he calls his wife and and she says call the police and so he does and they come...
we lived on a small, but for our town main, mountain highway and so when we were gathered out there in the front yard everyone in town was witness to the tableau... me, hasbeen, and two cops standing in a circle ...negotiating for the car keys...
one cop told me i had two choices... give them back or go to jail... i stood there and thought about it....
i didnt want to give back the keys without some sort of commitment from my hasbeen on support...
aaaaand i'd never been to jail...
it sounded interesting...
as i stood in thought it dawned on the two cops and my hasbeen that i was seriously considering the second option...
they looked nervously at each other with chagrin on their faces...
they waited...
on the other other hand, tho...
if i went to jail it might reflect unfavorably on my kids in this small town...
but i would so love to see what jail was like...
also... maybe the women would respect me more once they knew the story...
but my kids might get teased or shunned...
after a cupla minutes i looked at them and said oh alright... and went and got the keys...
i regret it to this day
...that i opted for the first option.
sorry, i have never been to jail so no juicy stories to grace this thread...
does it help that premarraige/prekids i may or may not have possibly done or not done some things in Europe and Tangiers that i repeatedly denied doing to the FBI who finally informed me "...and if you ever do again what you didnt do before we will get you for it!" ?

fluffy, that's a rather wonderful story!
Me, I've never been in a cell. Good boy, I am. (Well, sort of.)

None, unless you count a couple of nights in a hotel in northern Thailand that I swear must have been a converted jailhouse!
I think WG managed to start this thread without ever giving his own answer...

I was in the difficult position of being innocent, but knowing who had committed the assault.
My problem was - do I give the police the name of someone who I know has assaulted someone with an axe, and hope he never finds out about it ? Or do I stay quiet and hope the police can crack the case on their own ?
Fortunately the guy woke up in hospital , and had no hesitation in saying who put him there.
