Mag ik een biertje? (Mag: pronounced with an "a" as in fart, and with a soft "g", not like magazine. ik: sick -s. een: almost like fun -f.)
Which translates as: Can I have one beer?
Or in the dialect of the place where I was born:
Moog ich unne Pils?

I have no idea what part of Scotland you're referring to. I don't think that there's a bar in Fettes College.
Maybe 'Geez a pint eh Eye Pee Ah, pal' would be better.

and when you become very,very happy after 1+1+1+etc...(you keep ordering because you want to practice language)
you can use simple fraze:Kelner,pivo!!!!(waiter beer)

You can get away with "a pint of plain" in more rural pubs...probably not in the city though.
A pint of black might not be understoood because - sure what other colour could a pint be?

as you have been in malawi you should know it is "ndikfuna chibuku"
or "ndikfuna kaschaso" or green or special lol
