Did the Third Reich petshop actually exist or was it a running joke that went to far???

I've never seen or heard of one.
Not running, sitting or standing.
What do they look like? Cuz I might
have seen a flying one once.
Seriously, where did you hear the Third Reich had a petshop? It does seem an unlikely concept except for comedic possibilities of the darker kind.

Can you give us some more details please? Is it on TV? I presume it's meant to be comedic from the last post...

Just a doggone cotton-pickin' minute!
Reich petshops?
Athens vs Atlantis?
What drugs are you actually on, Admiral

Orexin, but that's besides the point. The whole Atlantis/Athens was written in Plato and I know surely that the Third Reich Petshop was not a figment of my imagination!!!

Just posting to goose this inscrutable thread back to the top of the list in hopes that someone will spot it and help us unravel this mystery.
By now of course I've convinced myself I have actually heard of the Third Reich Petshop and can't remember how, who, when or where. The temptation to begin speculating on various thoughts and images it brings to mind is quite overwhelming but a sense of caution tells me it might be best to leave it to the original thinkers who ever they may have been.
Anyone ever heard of this?

By fiddling with the text in the google search box I did find some very wierd stuff cached by google:
http://64.233.161.104/search?q=cache:e7QXRlFzGSgJ:131.104.232.9/animalnet/2001/6-2001/an-06-05-01-01.txt+Third+Reich+Petshop&hl=en
It is a list of articles about things like:
>> In "Understanding Nazi Animal Protection and the Holocaust"
(published in a 1992 issue of Anthrozoos), Dr. Arnold Arluke, Professor of Sociology at Northeastern University, and Boria Sax, Ph.D., coauthor of:
Animals in the Third Reich: Pets, Scapegoats, and the Holocaust (Continuum International Publishing Group, Inc., 2000),
stated that the Nazis "exalted synthesis against analysis . . . and Volk legend against scientific truth. ... Life ... had an organic unity ... the invisible force that makes the whole more than the sum of its parts." <<
Surely we are seeking something lighter in character.

Xanatic Posted May 25, 2004
Hmmm, I think I also saw something about it on Room 101.

F F Churchton Posted May 25, 2004
Thank you, someone else who remembers it from room 101, did you think it was a joke or do you think it actually existed???

Xanatic Posted May 25, 2004
It seemed to be just to be a bad cartoon he hated. Perhaps something like Maus.

A Super Furry Animal Posted May 25, 2004
Clarification is still required, please. Who did the hating/consigning? And who was in charge of Room 101 at the time? (There have been at least 2 hosts on UK TV that I'm aware of. Of whom I am aware. Oh b*ll*x!)
